A splendid villa, fantastic views, quiet side of Corfu
We really loved Ioanna’s Villa. We were four single adults, and we appreciated that we each had our own “wing”. The villa had a great pool, which is invaluable due to the heat. We were told by many locals that the temps were much higher than “normal”, and this did put some dampers on our ability to use the entire property. For instance, the AC was set up in the bedrooms, which left the dining/living room/kitchen very hot. While this didn’t impact us, keep it in mind if visiting in July.
One other thing to note: the driveway is very steep with a tight turn halfway up. We actually drove back to return our first car rental because we couldn’t realistically trust it to get up the driveway without stalling. We switched to a manual transmission and this worked much better. Keep this in mind about the entire island. Many of the roads are steep, narrow and full of blown curves. If you’ve ever driven on Caribbean islands or in small towns in Italy, especially hilly places like Tuscany/Umbria or in the Lakes, you’ll know what I am talking about. Ultimately, the villa we rented made our first trip to Corfu an incredible experience. I highly recommend this house!
