Rundown Gem

I was excited to stay at The Inn at Wise. I visited often as a child living in the area. The Inn used to be a grand place. Not so much now. The Inn needs cleaning most of all. The walls and door frames were dirty, not worn, dirty. The floors were uneven and caused difficulty walking with a cane. The cabinet holding the TV in sitting area had its drawers standing open due to its leaning. The sitting area had no independent control for AC making the bedroom freezing just to be comfortable in sitting area. My biggest concern is the lack of security. When I arrived found a sign telling me the clerk was away for 10 - 15 minutes. I would have been able to look at and go through anything there. There was no key control for access to the building from the parking garage. The bright note of the visit was the free breakfast. It was fresh and had good offerings.

Everything was wonderful. We received a recommendation to dine at the El Dorado, just a 1/2 block away, and found the margarita to be excellent and spoke with the owner for quite some time and very much enjoyed the experience.

Great location - update needed

Situated in a prime location for visiting UVA Wise, The Inn At Wise offers convenient access to two great restaurants within walking distance. Nevertheless, the rooms are in need of renovation, and the mattresses lacked comfort. A pleasant breakfast was provided, but the loud wedding reception that extended beyond 10pm and disorderly guests in the hallways were significant concerns. Additionally, staff members were seen smoking/vaping near the main entrance.
