About this property
GOATS AND CABBAGES FAMILY FARM
Immersed in the nature of the northern slope of the M. Sasso del ferro, in an isolated position at 750 m above sea level, is the Capre e cabbage farm and farmhouse which raises forty chamois goats and produces fresh and aged cheeses with raw milk. In a rural context, far from the chaos but only 20 minutes from Laveno Mombello on Lake Maggiore, where you can find peace and contact with animals and traditions, we offer our guests an independent apartment of about 40 square meters just renovated, with equipped kitchen, oven, fridge, with large windows with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, solid larch flooring and wood stove. The farmhouse can be REACHED ONLY BY CAR, not by public transport, from the traffic light of Cittiglio (VA) taking the SP8 which goes up to Vararo in 7 km (about 15 min). With departure on foot from our accommodation you can make various excursions to the surrounding mountains. Numerous other protected areas within 30km.
The apartment is on the ground floor, under our house and next to the milk processing laboratory. In fact, the Goats and cabbage farm has been breeding goats of the chamois breed of the Alps since 2002 and produces fresh and mature raw milk cheeses. While guaranteeing their privacy, guests will therefore find themselves in a rural context and, if they wish, they will also be able to observe the different phases of agricultural activity or, with just two steps, be in the middle of the woods. During the summer there is also an outdoor area with table and chairs for open air moments of relaxation. From March to October guests can also choose to have breakfast by coming to the barn to have the milk directly milked in the cup or buy our dairy products in the store adjacent to the apartment. On holidays it is also possible to have lunch in our family farm. Guests who want to prepare themselves to eat in the kitchen at their disposal in the apartment must bear in mind that apart from our products described above, the closest grocery stores and supermarkets are in Cittiglio (7km away
/15 minutes).
By choice, the apartment does not have a television, but there is a selection of books, board games and the possibility of consulting guides, maps and brochures to find out about the main tourist attractions nearby.

The apartment has independent access and guests will be provided with keys.
In the last 500 m that lead to the farm there is a dirt road but easily passable by all cars at moderate speed. A parking lot will be available for guests on the farm.

Both in the management of the house and the farm we are very attentive to the environment, we have built the buildings with solutions suitable for energy saving (coat, low emission double-glazing, etc.), we have hot water from solar thermal and we heat with stoves at high-performance wood and local wood. .
We therefore also ask guests to avoid unnecessary waste of water and energy and to correctly carry out separate waste collection.
