Cannot fault our stay here. We booked a double and a twin and were next to each other. The rooms were clean and comfortable and as soon as we went for breakfast the room was cleaned and the towels replaced. All the staff were very friendly and helpful (in particular the pool girl!). We arrived an hour early and were given our rooms straight away. The breakfast is excellent and again the two ladies that serve you are friendly. The pool area is lovely and well kept like the whole hotel. The adjoining restaurant is also excellent and handy if you don’t fancy driving out for dinner. For us the location was perfect as it was just 10 minutes to Lucca and other areas. Really feel the hotel is excellent value for money and as a family of 2 adults and two teenagers it met all our needs.

Good place to stay near Lucca with a wonderful restaurant
Beautiful hotel! The restaurant had fantastic food and the pool area was great. The breakfast left something to be desired, but everything else was perfect!
We had an amazing holiday at Hotel Hambros. The staff, the pool, the location, the breakfast and restaurant.
Guido and Stefania at the front of house went above and beyond to help us and Susan by the pool was a ray of sunshine every day and couldn’t do enough for us. If we had any type of problem or question or concern everyone was quick to be of service to us and help us out. No problem was to big and we were made to feel so welcome. We will definitely be coming back again.

Nice rooms and very clean, tea and coffee not replenished in the three days of our stay. Continental breakfast was plentiful but could have done with a bit more variety.
What a lovely hotel with so much character. The rooms were small but average for a European hotel room. The check in was very good, amenities were fantastic and the pool a delight as it was so hot .
Breakfast was delicious with a good selection and the bar service fair prices .
The hotel is minutes outside of Lucca which is a beautiful place to visit .
This hotel was heaven at the end of a long drive .
Hotel is lovely, our room was fairly basic and a tree in front of the window impaired the view slightly - but did provide shade from the sun. Restaurant was closed while we were there but lots of places to eat in Lucca and hotel breakfast was still great. The pool looked nearly complete and will be a huge asset next year. All staff were friendly, professional and humoured my attempts at Italian while speaking good English. Would stay again.
Room was comfortable although a little tight. Very clean.
Hotel is a little out of the way and not much happening in the town on the weekend. The restraunt next door was wonderful but not open on Sunday
Beautiful estate-like hotel with quaint reception rooms. Hotel room was nice with view of front lawn. Staff were very friendly and provided an excellent recommendation for dinner nearby.
Great 4 day stay and a good base for exploring. Very helpful staff and excellent friendly Italian hotel. Would thoroughly recommend. Essential to have a car.
Hotel in a beautiful garden. A lovely country villa. Hotel has a lift and is air conditioned. Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed one night in order to visit Lucca. We would have liked to have stayed longer. Room was quiet but a bit small however there are rooms downstairs where one may sit. We enjoyed a meal in the adjoining restaurant. We also enjoyed breakfast.
Wonderful staff. Hotel restaurant extra nice. Good chef, excellent wait staff! Quiet. However, it's very warm in this area in late July and the second floor (top) rooms did not cool adequately. Air can be set individually, but 21 never happened! 24, maybe. Nice rooms, but ask for a 1st floor room. We'd would do it again. Close enough to Lucca, Volterra and Pisa. Almost a park setting. Dinner out of doors was lovely. Cooler than the room!
This hotel was a little challenging to find on the google maps GPS, but once I got there it was quiet and off the road. The wifi was okay, but breakfast was better. It's so close to Lucca that I'd likely stay closer to the city next time.
I would say this is an average hotel. The landscaping around it is nice but the manager was pretty rude. He actually made me regret staying there at all. But the front desk guy who worked overnight was nice and accommodating at least. On another note, we forgot our passports in our room and no one at the hotel made an effort to call us to let us know they were there. I realize it is not their job to make sure we didn't leave anything behind but I was pretty disappointed that no one there made that extra effort since we all know how important passports are especially for travel and identity theft. By the time we realized the passports were left behind we were 350km away and had to turn around and go back. Personally if I was working somewhere like that I would have called the phone number on the reservation and let them know their passports were left behind. So again, this would be an average hotel that has a rude manager (the rude manager has nothing to do with the passport situation just to clarify).
