The two bedrooms are both a good size. The master has a king size bed with a 32-inch flat screen TV that incorporates a DVD player. The second bedroom has a single bed and children’s bunk beds. There is an ensuite toilet to the master bedroom and a large family shower room; both beautifully fitted out.
There is a generous 13 feet wide kitchen/diner with a full-size washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and hob and there is a dining table capable of seating 5 people. The lounge area has a comfortable U-shaped sofa facing a 55-inch Smart TV. There is free WiFi available.
The property has gas central heating and is double glazed with sliding patio doors leading to a large wraparound terrace. Here you will find new rattan patio furniture, a great place to watch the world go by with a drink and alfresco dining. There is parking for one car adjacent to the property.
SANDHILLS HOLIDAY RETREAT
Drop Anchor is situated in a peaceful position on the Sandhills Holiday Retreat. The Park has two gates which open directly onto the promenade which link Mudeford Quay with Avon Beach. The gate nearest to the caravan is only 50 metres away. Turn right out of this gate for the quay and left for the beach. Mudeford Quay is well known for crabbing, a family favourite, and there is The Haven House Inn and Café. There is a fish stall selling freshly caught fish and seafood. Here you can catch the ferry across to Mudeford Beach to explore Hengistbury Head and nature reserve. Turn left out of this gate and 100 metres or so away you will be on Avon Beach where the reputable Noisy Lobster Restaurant can be found with its adjacent takeaway food bar, together with the Coffee Cabin and an ice cream kiosk serving the most mouth-watering flavours. Here you will also find a bakery/gift shop for your everyday needs.
Sandhills has a fabulous heated outdoor pool and separate heated children’s pool. These pools are situated outside a family friendly Manor Clubhouse which boasts a fully stocked bar, coffee/hot drinks machine, snacks and morning pastries. Entertainment is provided periodically throughout the year. There will be information about visiting acts, etc. in reception. There is also a small gym and a large well equipped children’s play area on site.
MUDEFORD AND SURROUNDING AREA
Mudeford is well situated in Dorset. It has two rivers; the Avon and Stour and it is close to beaches and the New Forest National Park with many places of interest to visit. A couple of miles from Mudeford, walking distance for some, is the historic Highcliffe Castle where you can have a tour, wander around its beautiful grounds or be tempted to just visit the tea rooms for lunch or perhaps a delicious cream tea. A couple of miles from Mudeford in the other direction is the town of Christchurch with its famous Christchurch Priory, relaxing riverside walks, many shops and tea rooms. A few miles beyond Christchurch are the larger towns of Bournemouth and Poole to explore, full of shops, gardens and sandy beaches. You can take the chain ferry from Poole over to Studland Bay to visit Swanage, Corfe Castle or Wareham.
The New Forest is very scenic and great for a picnic. Be careful as the roaming horses might try to steal your sandwiches! It has some wonderful littles villages such as Burley, Brockenhurst, Lymington and many more. From Lymington you can take a ferry across to Yarmouth and have a day out exploring the Isle of Wight.
