The rooms are so clean! Staff is very friendly and welcoming. You can walk about 50 feet from the hotel and rent a bike. I definitely will be back.

My mom, aunt, and I stayed at the Refuge Inn and had an amazing time! Sharon at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. The location and accommodations were fantastic and we will definitely be back!

Great place to stay! Very clean, loved the decor, the plants at the pool was a nice touch. My granddaughters enjoyed the swings in the courtyard. Everyone was friendly.

Wish we hadn't left!

This was such a wonderful weekend trip! The staff were so kind and went above and beyond to allow us early check in, give us recommendations for the town, and overall gave very motherly vibes. We enjoyed the horses on the property as well as the breakfast you can order the night before to have left at your door in the morning. We would come back here in a heartbeat.

3 night stay to see Chincoteague. Great place to stay, walkable options for food. Mosquitos will carry you away anywhere! Ponies on the property were a treat to see each day.

Little gem! Authentic to the island with exceptional attention to detail and service! Totally recommend and planning to go back there again. The best part is the ponies that you get to hand feed and relaxing pool area/jacuzzi. Word of caution - bring bug spray - we encountered A LOT of mosquitos!

Refuge inn was a great experience for me and my partner who loves horses we got to feed the ponies that were on the property and the surrounding areas were goood great restaurants and stores nearby and the beach is about 10-15 mins by bicycle. 10/10 I 100% recommend.

We stayed for four nights and felt completely at home. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed by the friendly staff and the hospitality continued. The whole property has a cozy and intimate vibe. We wanted to enjoy the National Park on the Island and get away. The Refuge Inn was the perfect quiet spot for us, we will be back!

Our visit was perfect , you can tell it was family owned they cared for their customers and showed us appreciation for being there … that in no way happens any more these day Coffee very fine tasty supplied through out the day and who has ever ever had the free !! Breakfast delivered to the door in the wee hours of the am !! Lovely corral of pet horses available all day .. kids would love it ! On an island in remote area but definetly delivers 5 star services !

Aside from the bad beds that felt stiff as a board, a cleaner entered our room when I had the DoNot Disturb sign on the door. She disturbed us during intimate moments.
