The room was clean, comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. Onsite parking was very convenient though pricey ($49 for a night). I loved that I was able to walk to the Riverwalk, Navy Pier and the shops. Staff was helpful and friendly. The only negative was that it was noisy - our neighbors were very loud at 2:00a and woke us up. Then someone started to smoke weed and the smell wafted into our room - it gave me a headache. Finally fell asleep at 4:00a.

Apart from the ambulance that comes by every 3 minutes, and the hellcats doin burn outs at 1 in the morning it’s in a great area! lol but yes. Clean, good area close to everything, great service!

Noisy? Uhh, sure. But also cool and kitschy

Booked the Ohio House because it was an affordable place right in the middle of River North. The reviews I read seemed favorable and the pictures made it look cool and kitschy. Ultimately, it was all of those things. Of course, it’s still an older motel in River North which means noise. Noise from the street, noise from the alley, noise from the other rooms. You get an idea that it’ll be noisy when you find earplugs in the room. Overall, though, the room was clean and had been recently remodeled, the bed was comfortable and, location-wise, it was perfect for the few days we were in Chicago. I would stay at the Ohio House again in the future, and if you can tolerate some noise: you should too.

This very affordable hotel exceeded my expectations! It was clean, bed was comfy and the staff was very friendly and very welcoming. The location is excellent. I will definitely be staying here again as I travel to Chicago often.

Mallory was great at check in. We did not know that we could call to turn up a/c...but just dial 0 and ask. Onky downside was traffic noise but they do provide earplugs! Very comfortable stay.

I ended up having to leave because it was just too disgusting, loud, odorous, unclean, freezing, unbelievable. Saw a rat right by the front door. They tried to accommodate with a different room and it was just too much so I left and got a new hotel but they still charge me one night But did refund the other remaining nights. I was to stay there.
