Be aware of using towels

I was going to give full stars as the location was great for the concert I went to at Allstate arena. Other than the fact that you drive through a parking lot for a super rundown closed hotel, which is a little confusing, the place was nice enough. The only con, and my reason for removing a star, was that the hotel charged $10 because we apparently ruined 4 towels? I was shocked as I’ve never been charged for damages and have always considered myself to be a quality guest. We cleaned up after ourselves leaving little for housekeeping to do other than change the sheets and put in fresh towels. We did use a total of 2 wash rags to remove makeup. I can’t speak for my friend, but I know I use a remover than breaks down the makeup for removal - I have always used white rags myself at home and they have never been stained by my makeup. I know there was also a mishap with the pizza we had delivered and my friend had to use a towel to wipe up some pizza grease. Still unsure where towel 4 comes into play. The hotel said they would send me pictures of these towels but never did. I’m not trying to go round for $10, but I do find it a little ridiculous. I do want to note that as we were waiting to check in someone was calling in regarding an unknown charge so my guess is this happens somewhat often so make sure you bring disposable wipes so you don’t get charged as well

Overall enjoyed my very short stay. However, 2 things were bothersome. The room was extremely cold and the controls to modify the settings were very complicated. No matter what I tried I couldn’t get the temperature regulated. Secondly, I got into the shower and found that there was no body soap in the dispenser. It was too late to get out and call front desk so I had to improvise and use shampoo for my body.
