The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It was a very clean and quiet place to stay. The veiw was lovely as well. The building was very easy to navigate and get from our room to the outside with no issues. Will definitely use this hotel next time im in the area!

Our 4-night stay was great. The property and room were clean, and the staff were nice and friendly. We were understanding that there was a bit of a cooling issue due to the high heat and humidity outside, but other than that, everything was pleasant! The area felt safe and plenty of stores and food in the area for variety.

We had a 2 complications. Our room was hot on arrival and when I moved my pillow I found a live spider on the bed. Went down to see what could be done about the room and the manger gave us a new room thankfully. Other than that the hotel is great! Nice little restaurant on the bottom. Nice big pool on the inside. Lots of parking. There is a little market/store on the inside as well. Will most likely come again.

Front desk agent nice on arrival. However, did not give a map or directions to the room. A/C in entire public space not working, so it was 102F inside. The indoor Pool appeared greenish due being really warm and probably algae growth. Once in room, next door guests were playing rap music really loud and smoking Marijuana until 3:30AM, when I finally called the front desk. F/D agent called the room next door and told them that we complained instead of keeping it anonymous. We immediately heard the people next door talking crap about us through the wall. We finally changed rooms at 4AM. Once in the new room we found that there was no jackstand for luggage, no pen/paper to take notes on our experience, and to beat us down even further, the TOILET WAS NOT WORKING! Also, we initially reserved a single king room, but we were moved to a room with 2 single beds. The night f/d agent told us that the people smoking weed (this property is advertised right at the front desk as non-smoking!)and blasting music were the children of "diamond members" as if that makes it ok. In the morning we told a f/d agent that this horrible experience and failure to deliver on what they are supposed to provide warrants a full refund. They called later and said they would compensate us 20%. Unacceptable! We will be contacting Orbitz, who we booked the hotel through. If they cannot rectify it, we will dispute the charges with our credit card company. We recommend avoiding this property!

Our toilet quit working early in the morning. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. No one came after about an hour so we went to breakfast and used the restroom in the lobby. Our teenagers waited maybe another 20 minutes and no one showed up so they also came downstairs and used the bathroom in the lobby. I went to the desk and told the gal we were going to check out but our toilet still wasn’t working and she just said okay. I was a little confused and told her you can’t just leave a family with no working toilet and just say okay. It’s been a few hours. She just looked at me. I asked for a manager and of course she told me there wasn’t one there. We just got our stuff ready and checked out early at that point. I unfortunately can’t recommend this hotel.

Disappointing Stay with Multiple Red Flags!

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore in Skokie, IL, and unfortunately, our experience was far below expectations. The property was consistently dirty, with trash overflowing from bins throughout the interior of the hotel both morning and night. A strong, persistent smell of urine lingered in the hallway outside our second-floor room for the entire weekend. Due to the way each room’s air conditioning unit is vented into the building, the indoor common areas were uncomfortably hot—especially surprising for a hotel. This may have even contributed to the building’s fire alarms going off twice in the middle of the night (around 2 a.m.) on consecutive days, forcing all guests to evacuate until cleared by the Skokie Fire Department. The hotel’s gift shop was shockingly overpriced. Thankfully, there's a Walgreens nearby for any basic needs. Adding to the frustration, a staff member walked through our hallway knocking on doors—twice—to ask if guests planned to check out on time. This occurred once at 9:45 a.m. and again at 11 a.m., despite the official checkout time being 12 noon. It felt very intrusive and was conducive to the overall lack of hospitality experience throughout our stay. Overall, we were very disappointed by the conditions and management of this property. I would not recommend this hotel to others and will be choosing different accommodations next time we visit the area.

This hotel was so incredibly hot. Had terrible sleep because of the heat. Literally brought ice back to my room to lay on to get any form of comfort. I would not stay here if you can avoid it. Especially on one of the hottest weekends we have had all year.

At time of arrival, we had gps set to the location, we didn’t see a sign of the holiday inn, only the bar that we didn’t know they had. Once we checked in it was quick and easy. As we were walking through the halls it was very HOT hoping our room didn’t feel like that. Got to our room and it was 87 degrees in there. Turned the ac unit down as far as we could which was 67. Felt the air blowing out. It was hot, got a new room on opposite side of building. Just warm in the hallways and our room was much cooler, not cold but tolerable. Had a three night stay, asking for towels was a hassle, asked the front seat for them, they can’t do that- we needed to ask housekeeping. Housekeeping said we needed to go to front desk. Ended up getting towels from house keeping. She would only allow us two towels- more than two people in our room. Had to pay for breakfast, it was terrible should definitely be in the room rate. Made conversation with other guests- most seemed real nice and some lived there for a few hundred dollars a month. Also at 1 am hotel was evacuated, never did our alarm go off. I would never stay there again.
