The hotel was great value and near to the Cermak subway station (walkable), in Chinatown. There are lots of eateries and various gift shops and supermarkets nearby too.
The hotel is dated, despite signs everywhere that stated the fine for smoking and local bylaws, the hotel and our room stank of cigarettes. The room was basic but the bathroom was spacious and clean. The receptionist lent us a plug so that we could charge our phones, as we'd hoped they might have USB charging points, we were advised that this was an old hotel and didn't have such things. For a base to explore other parts of Chicago, this is a great value hotel but you get what you pay for and whilst the bedding was clean, the bathroom clean (with some free toiletries) it did feel grubbier, with the strong smell of stale cigarette smoke. However, the hotel met our needs for the 1 night that we stayed
