No air conditioning rooms very hot carpet thick with hair even after another hoover requested by us. Food and bar prices expensive and poor selection especially for drinks. The whole place needs a good clean up the outside could do with some paint and brightening up. Decking in the garden taped off as was unsafe to use. Shame really location is good but HIG need to spend some money on it before it’s too late.

A bit of curates egg - good in parts

Good hotel let down by poor external appearance ( poor maintenance) and slow service in the restaurant. Clean and pleasant room . Modern bathroom comfy bed . Coffee was not good at breakfast . Reasonable tariff. I would stay again however

Clean room staff friendly, the best buffet breakfast of any hotel we have stayed in. Great for kids because gym and swimming pool. The only let down was air conditioning not working and the room was stifling, we asked for a fan there was none left, but a lady overheard us at reception and said we could have hers even brought it to the room for us, or we’d have had to have a room change, or another hotel ( we are in our 70s both with breathing problems C.O.P.D and asthma. So a good hotel let down by the air conditioning, you can’t have that in a heatwave.

If you’re out of the central Chester city area, this is a really convenient place to stay. Just be warned, the nearby roundabout on the A55 gets clogged at rush hour in a number of directions. Just leave for work early! The establishment is pleasant, clean, and the staff will do what they can if there’s a problem. Example: on my first check in, Expedia had stopped sending bookings across. I’d only booked an hour before. I was given a bar voucher and told they’d call me as soon as the problem was solved. The on-site pool and gym is also a nice feature. So far, six weeks of two nights each week proves my usual criterion: would I stay here again. I’m just about to book my seventh week!

Late visit

Booked on line not realising it was same hotel we tried to years ago and weren't allowed inas was booked out to migrants ,so wasnt sure we'd be allowed in and it was 10pm. Got there checked in ,no food available was told by staff would have to go online to have food delivered !!! Wasnt impressed as we had travelled from holyhead, tired and hungry with only asda to go to didnt bother too much hassle as didnt have the app. Bar staff and night porter very nice tho. Hotel needs refurb , marks and holes in corridors long trek to room so saw lots unnerved me and hoped beds were new !! Was quite happy to leave next morning.

Disappointing Stay – No Air Conditioning offered a

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. Despite clearly booking a room with air conditioning, I was given a room without it. When I raised the issue with the front desk, the staff were unhelpful and did not offer a proper solution. They said nothing can be done. I believe it was because I booked through Hotels.com Poor service and a lack of concern for guests’ comfort ruined what should have been a pleasant trip. After rasing issue with the manager since I got so frustrated as it was already 10 30pm.. they finally offered us a room with aircon. The breakfast was average.. Scrambled eggs were pathetic. Not enough bread or bread spreads. Altogether it was a poor choice booking this one. I won’t be staying here again and cannot recommend this hotel to others.

A pleasant conveniently placed hotel, and as can be expected from Holiday Inn, the accommodation is comfortable and clean. If you’re dining in the dining room / bar area and want a steak, make sure to order it blue if you like your steaks underdone. My go to choice when working outside central Chester.

Staff are lovely but building is in terrible condition from the outside Lift broke during stay not helpful as I have severe arthritis. Toilet flush kept trying to fill bowl and not refill the tank - needs attention Card scanner on door batteries are getting low needs replacing
