Don't Stay at the Dogwood "Hostel"
Don't stay at the Dogwood if you value your sleep. There is no "on-site" management or front desk, it is more of a HOSTEL. It is a single cabin with hotel style battery operated locks on residential grade interior bedroom doors. The water from the faucets was brown but did get hot for a shower. Walls are paper thin and floors creak with every movement. Bottom floors (Room 1-6) are unbearable due to the noise from guests above. You must rely on other guests to have common courtesy, no posted quiet hours.
My particular stay the guests above were unbearable with creating noise all night and all morning to where I could not sleep.
I am a avid hiker and unless I had been out on the trail for weeks and need a place to dry out or warm up, I would be better off in my tent. During my recent hike the temp were dropping to 10 degrees at night so there was little choice but to stay indoors.
If you are passing thru and need a Hotel/Motel for the night or looking for a romantic getaway, DONT STAY HERE!
At first the communication with the company was great very easy payment. When walking into the cabin it smelled terrible like something died in there. It also was so many fruit flies and stink bugs everywhere most alive some dead. Me and my family went to the closest store to get bug spray and candles. As the next day came I tried calling them no one answered the calls so therefore horrible cabin.

Loved our family tome
We really enjoyed our stay, the location was great and the cabin was comfortable, however the carpet in the bedrooms is pretty dated and stained. And the floor in the kitchen was sticky. All in all we enjoyed our stay and realize the difficulty of maintenance with multiple guest, so a different floor type could be considered besides carpet.
The cabin is an apartment. Like 10 guest to a cabin. Had a hard time parking because of all the construction lumber piled up in the parking lot. Also no electrical outlets in the bathroom. ☹️
We loved the cabin! Roomy, clean and well equipped for all 16 of us. We stayed in the "Chestnut" cabin. It was great, quality family time for all of us and we look forward to visiting again when we have more time.
Overall, the stay was satisfactory, however there are improvements that could be made. Firstly, the check-in process was unclear, and the phone number provided wasn't available on the weekends (when we were staying). Secondly, the overall cleanliness needed some attention; there were cobwebs along the ceiling in both the bathroom and bedroom. Thirdly, the mattress is something to be desired. It was one of the most uncomfortably firm beds we've slept on, leaving us with back pain in the morning.
Very well maintained cabin. Full kitchen is up-to-date and all appliances are in working order. The cabin is very spacious, with super clean sheets, and firm mattresses.

So so stay
There was an issue with the front door not working with the key card…it worked on our room but had to walk down a steep trail to get to side door to get in the building., couldn't get heat & air to work…bathroom had a weird odor..only one uncomfortable chair in the room..was nice to be by the river and restaurant on the ground was good..bed was decently comfortable and room was clean
This was a much older property with shared common spaces. The checkin process and location was not very clear, however, this was undermined by the activities and the restaurant on the grounds which were incredible.

The cabin was small. The air conditioner over the bed leaked on the bed.
