There was debris around the walk way very limited parking there was no staff while we were there. air conditioner was busted up and sounded like it was about to die. I do not recommend this motel. Rooms were dirty. Pool was not open (in July seriously?!) ran out of toiletries and no one was there to replace. Called to try to speak to someone and supposedly the office is sticking to cancellation policy which I was not cancelling needed supplies. So poor communication from the property. Which owners were moving why did they care ? Very poor experience
This is reviewed by someone that typically stays in timeshares and resorts but enjoys experiencing small town motels every now and again.
Stay was good. 3 nights with family. Frankie, the front staff person, was very accommodating and nice. Rooms are being updated but are very small. Enough room for the beds and furniture but not much else. The bathroom is very very small. Best to keep in mind if you are a larger person. Also beds are VERY firm. I struggled with sleeping because of my back. I have lower back issues and the mattress irritated them. I woke up numerous times due to lower back pain. My spouse also had issues but slept through the night. The kids had no problems haha. Self check in is not currently available but it wasn’t an issue, Frankie helped with everything and we didn’t miss it. The pool is not currently open. Another thing to keep in mind if you are looking to book for that reason. This did not bother us because we planned to swim in the local swimming holes and do some tubing if possible but it ended up being rainy and chilly anyways so swimming was out either way. Also there is no breakfast available. I’m not sure if they offer it but just saying. Overall we would stay again for another short trip if we were in Maggie Valley.
PS, do yourself a favor and drive down a mile or so left of the motel and stop at Gates Flea Market and see Joy at the Snack Shack. The food is affordable and amazing! Don’t judge a book on this place, for real it is so good.

We have visited Maggie Valley at least 5 times. This is the perfect place if you are on a budget. I also love that it's pet friendly. The rooms are very clean and the owners and the staff are extremely welcoming and will get you what you need, such as extra towels, trash bags, etc. There are so many local shops that are within walking distance. There is a coffee shop right across from the Motel. There is a many golf/putt putt place directly beside the Motel. The only thing that I hope will be changed is that some of the rooms need an update. It's a little dated. Other than that, I will always stay here when I visit Maggie Valley.

The place is older, but it was clean. The hot water in the shower was awesome!! Very friendly people running it!
A pool is listed as an amenity- NO POOL- NOT open this year.
Our room was half way remodeled with wallpaper peeling in places especially the bathroom.
They are redoing 1/2 of the hotel so you can forget and peace after 9am.
We were barely given any towels or linens for our 3 day stay.
There is only a very thin cover on the bed so bring your own blankets.
The TV had a blue line down it when on-
The only soda machine is out of order-
We had to drive to Lake Junaluska's community pool and pay 20.00 just to have a day by the pool.
Hotel. Com did give us 50.00 on our account for the pool- but in my opinion they should have refunded the whole amout.
I am not one to complain but this was too much!
It was a dump. The room I had was clean. Shower door was from hell. Coffee Pot was dead. No pool no breakfast as Expedia promoted. So I checked out early.

The room was dated but very clean, service was good. Just a suggestion, would be impressive to have a a breakfast bar with pastries. Also listed as having a pool. However, the pool wasn’t open.
Property has no pool as advertised.
Has no eating utensils - had to ask at front desk, was an effort to find a fork.
Room smelled of cat urine. Clean, but stank. Hotel is very dated and needs upgrading.
Grounds were clean and swept daily. Maid service was prompt and efficient.
Our 2 night stay was pleasant. Our room was very clean. My biggest issue is the heat/air is above the sink by the bathroom, so it is hard to reach. Had to use a chair to reach it.

Disliked: Cleanliness
one of those.. you get what you pay for. I expected things to be a little out dated but could had been better cleaned.. They were a musky odor in our room. The beds were comfortable and clean! The check in gentleman was not rude per se but was not friendly at all. Treated me like a nuisance because I was checking in. I will say if you are looking for an old school road side motel.. this is your vibe!
Update the $ for pets per pound on Hotel.com website. Explain things like, check out time, that there is no continental brrakfast service, etc Air rooms out and fix the little things.
This is a nice, clean hotel. If you are wanting a fancy hotel, then this hotel is not for you. We liked it because we were able to take our dog. It is a dated hotel, but was very clean and we felt safe staying there. We would definitely stay here again.

I thought the hotel room was great especially for the price. The building is a little outdated, but the rooms are very clean. The staff was super friendly and even asked if we needed anything the next day (towels, soap, etc). I loved all the shops around the hotel, as a tourist it was great to walk. We were close to some great Restaurants. Go to Pop's Butt's on the Creek....The food was Ahmazzing. Only 20 minutes from Cherokee. I loved my time there! I will stay again! Overall great stay!
