Fine Arts Museum of Chartres and International Stained-Glass Centre are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Church of Saint-Andre and La Maison Picassiette. Location, rooms, cleanness is fine. Restaurant bar, terrible service for 2 evenings no red or white wine... in France!!! Breakfast, coffee, drinks ok but food not tasty at all.
Excellent hotel, parking available on site (at an extra charge) handy location for centre
This was a perfectly fine two-night stay for us to visit Chartres. The location is outstanding, a half-block from the train station and a 5 minute walk from the cathedral. Don't expect luxury or old world charm. This is a clean, utilitarian hotel. We opted for the lowest price room which, while adequate, was quite small. There are 2 higher levels of rooms which must be more spacious. We also fronted on the street where currently (summer, 2019) there is construction, which started around 6 AM. Not the hotel's fault, of course, just noting this. The breakfast is decent, though at 13.5 euros per person, was a bit high as there is no table service, all self-serve. A big plus is the on-site parking lot, though it is small and no way to reserve a spot in advance. We lucked out by getting a spot, but be aware that a space can't be guaranteed. The first morning there was no hot water for showering, but after that we did get hot water. But, in all, if you consider the price and location and other factors, this place is a very good value.
