We ate at Blu the first night. They were out of almost everything we ordered . It was almost easier to ask them what they did have instead of trying to order off the menu provided. When the food arrived, it was OK at best. Obviously frozen, nothing fresh. I think for the location and especially the cost, they could’ve definitely done better here. We went across the street to Rita’s for the next meal and paid half for food and service that was three times as good. The property is old and looks good in areas such as the entrance, but you can definitely tell they haven’t spent much inside the rooms. The only outlet for a phone charger didn’t work and the ceiling above the shower, which was a miserable dribbling experience, has been patched over so many times it looks like it’s falling apart. The view and proximity to the ocean is definitely what gets people returning. Only friendly staff we encountered were the bellmen, who went out of their way to be friendly. It was, “good enough”

The staff was very nice and accommodating. Great view of the ocean and in walkable distance to many restaurants and the pier. However the cleanliness still needs improvement. The white fabric headboard was dirty and scuffed and the linens all had a weird smell. Besides that the trip was enjoyable

Every staff member I encountered always greeted me! They were also very aware of activities! For example everyone made sure to tell my girlfriend happy birthday, and made her feel special for the weekend! The staff went above and beyond with hospitality!

it was a beautiful view for sure! the food in the restaurant was great and the folks at the front desk were wonderful. however the room wasn't very clean-- so much sand on the floor and the door didn't work. you had to slam it to shut it-- which was loud on everyone (I felt bad for my neighbors). also there was very little hot water for a shower...

In general love the location and options. Also great its dog friendly. Negative ia we asked multiple times for room cleaning at front desk and it didn't happen the 4days there. Additionally the elevator was broken. The pool rule to wear bracelets was odd for a weekday when pool unpopulated. The manager asking people where they were was not very nice about it

Shower pressure was good, it was clean, staff was super nice. Elevators being down a lot was not good but the communication about it helped. We could have also used a couple of small chairs for the balony.

Best experience! The staff were all sweet yet professional! Brandon was great… and Colton and Nico are Bell Hops on the next level! Beach bar is just what it should be…All rooms are ocean view! Right next to great beach Volleyball courts and fishing pier..So chill & walkable to everything! Heated Saltwater pool was nice too!

The Tides was AMAZING! The staff are incredible and the rooms are clean. The only reason this is 4/5 stars is because there is only 1 working elevator. This meant waiting 10 minutes to get to and from your room (we were on the 8th floor). Amenities were excellent, would absolutely come again!

My daughter and I stayed here to meet with my son who lives near Charleston. My son commuted from his home to the Property. When we got to the hotel, I asked the front desk receptionist about where my son could park and if he could have a parking pass to park in the other show a lot. She advised yes, and once he got there, she said to just let her know, and he would be able to get into the parking lot. When he arrived, another agent was tending the front desk. I asked her if she could open the gate so he could park during his visit with us. She advised there was only one car permitted per room so he would have to find residential parking on the street. We spent another $45 just so he could park his car for the days we were there though he was not an overnight guest. This was especially disheartening because when we extended our stay just so we would have more time to visit, I was charged a very high amount about $100 more than what I had paid the previous night for a hotel that wasn’t even close to fall on a cold day. Smell in lobby was awful. The cleanliness of the room was very poor. There was dirt and mold in the corners the table and the TV stand area with filthy the bed beside the sliding glass door smelled like urine. So it was called we decided to try out the pool. The towels available were not much larger than hand towels. Only 1working elevator so long waits. Area was beautiful, but dissatisfied with the hotel.

Location was perfect - oceanfront. That is the only thing going for this hotel. You are hit with extremely strong smell of air fresheners or perfume when you arrive to check in. The staff is friendly but when you get to your room it is outdated, dirty vents, rusty hinges on doors with rust stains running down. Juliet balcony sliding door was hard to open with foggy old glass. Only one elevator was operational, so the wait was annoying. Would not consider this hotel ever again!

Hotel sits right on the beach and every room seems to have a beautiful view! Beach is gorgeous and clean! Heated pool. Parking at hotel. Right across the street are a few restaurants and gift shops. Easy 25 min drive to downtown Charleston. Employees were some of the nicest we ever met!! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would stay there again!

The location is very nice and safe. All rooms have oceanfront view and right by the beach. Hotel is on the old condition but bathrooms are cheap renovated. The air/heat conditioning unit was very loud and made lots of noise. The walls are thin and we woke up from crying baby all nights. The room smell of dog. Whistling noise through the big door window since it’s a very old property. There was some stain and mold in bathroom. You pay the price to be on the beach. I would not pick this property next time. Restaurants around have average food. Very touristy area.
