Nice spacious room but the bathroom is really small compared to the room size. Great location, walking distance to boutiques and restaurants.

Being a historic building it was very well maintained and updated. The staff was attentive and friendly, enjoyed the afternoon champagne and cheese in the lobby with the piano player. Done very nicely. Have been to a couple of other hotels recently with manager receptions that were lackluster but this one was nice, good quality and well attended. The service team was very good and even though we had an issue with the hot water early on in our stay it was immediately explained and action was taken.

Beautiful hotel and location however the day we arrived there was no hot water which they did give us a discount. The biggest issue was the fact they did not have the room we reserved, we requested 2 double beds however they only had a queen with a pull out couch. There was no apology when we went in the room, it had been used as evidenced by used soap in the bathroom.

5 Stars – Perfect Stay in the Heart of Charleston We loved everything about our stay at the Francis Marion Hotel! The location was unbeatable—walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and all the best sights in historic Charleston. The hotel itself has so much character; it's older, but that only added to the charm and gave us the full experience of staying in a beautiful, historic area. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we really appreciated the on-site bar and restaurant. The food was great, and it was super convenient for a spontaneous meal or a late-night cocktail without having to go far. The concierge was wonderful—very helpful and polite, offering great suggestions and assistance throughout our stay. Highly recommend if you’re looking for charm, convenience, and a taste of Charleston’s history!

Very old, you guys didn't describe the bathroom, which was smaller than a cruise ship. Needs cleaning and the restaurant had a gas leak and we could not get in our hotel for 6 hours and it was 90 outside.

When we arrived, fire engines surrounded the hotel and the word was a gas leak and all guests were evacuated. 2 hours later the building was declared safe. Little did I know that we would have no hot water and the hotel restaurant would be closed
