Summary:

Delight in the old-world elegance of this charming suite within a historic brick-built home. With its stately fireplace, wrought-iron bed, and vivid hardwood floors, the room evokes a vibrant, yet restful atmosphere.



The Space:

The house is a traditional Charleston single house built in 1852. It has been renovated but still remains its historical charm.



Guest Access:

Guests will be provided a keypad code to access the house.



The Neighborhood:

The home is set in Cannonborough-Elliotborough, one block from the Medical University of South Carolina. Vibrant restaurants, bars, and shops along King Street are a 10-minute walk away. The Mace Brown Museum of Natural History is steps away.



Getting Around:

You can either walk, bike or Uber to most any place. Parking is supplied onsite for one car and there is street parking available for other cars. We suggest an economy size vehicle to navigate the narrow downtown Charleston streets. We also have bikes available for guests' use.

The room was just as described. Very comfortable, cool air, comfy bed and walking distance to everything(if you have trouble walking long distances you may want to drive or uber). Karen was very nice and responded quickly. The room was very charming and had everything we needed. The wet room was NOT a problem at all. Plenty of space.

The stay was okay for maybe --2 nights. Any longer, the tiny shower / commode combo became a bit much. You have to master that whole situation. The room was as described. I would add a comfortable chair for seating. The bench seating is not suitable.

This was great and accessible by walking to major areas of town while feeling very safe. The only issue we had is that the water from the shower/water closet leaks out a bit into the room when you bathe but we just put down some extra towels to solve that!

Very cute room with very convenient parking. The communication from the host was great! Only note is that the Inn and surround area is very loud. We could hear movement from other residents easily and also were woken up early by street cleaning or sirens both nights. The location was great and very walkable.

Lovely room in beautifully restored house with great bed and AC. 10 minute walk to Holey Bagels (the best breakfast sandwiches!) and another 10 to King Street. If you have a car, there is plenty of public parking so easy to just drive to waterfront park or aquarium. We had a wonderful time and Karen was an excellent host!!

The room was super cute, clean, and welcoming! There were snacks, towels, robes, and a free parking spot provided. The bathroom is a small wet room but for a short weekend stay it was no problem at all. Since it is an “inn” you can hear other tenants walking around and sometimes talking. The host was very welcoming and responsive!

Southern Charm

My daughter and I stayed at this charming suite over the Mother's Day weekend and couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations! Its checks all the boxes: convenience, comfort, hospitality, communication with the host, value, etc. Located within easy walking distance to the city's King Street with its bars, shops and restaurants, the suite sported tasteful and welcoming furnishings, super comfortable bed, and clean linens. Additional extras like robes, house slippers, and a bottle of wine were like icing on the cake! Thank you, Karen, for hosting us! I would definitely recommend her property for your Charleston stay!

The room was amazing and fit our needs. We appreciated the welcome wine Karen our host was a blessing to deal with and always was prompt with a response. The parking was a little tight, but we were able to manage it with no difficulties. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Charleston at the parson Inn.

Okay for what it was

The room was okay, but over scented - bedding in particular - not great for those with sensitive noses. The bathroom was difficult to manage - too small. It's basically a bathroom inside of a shower and so if you want to use the shower, you have to put everything else away - including TP - so it doesn't get wet. Location was average, but not quiet as it's across from the hospital. We head sirens and medivac helicopters both nights.

A Great Getaway

My boyfriend and I had a great time staying at this place. Karen was responsive, and the inside of the property is so cute! The wet room wasn’t an issue for either of us, and my boyfriend is 6’4 and was able to easily maneuver in the shower. The only slight issue we had was parking. We went in an average sized SUV and parking was tight time to time, but not a dealbreaker. We walked into downtown Charleston, and it is about a 40 minute walk to King Street, and we never felt unsafe while walking, even at night. Overall it was a great stay, and the host even provided a bottle of wine which was a nice touch! I would recommend this property.

First experience with VRBO

Our stay in Charleston was very enjoyable, and the property was clean, and as expected. Also appreciated the private, on site, no charge parking. That alone is worth $50-$100 dollars a night depending on where you are! And to top it off, our plans changed at the last minute and we had to leave two days earlier than planned, and our hostess gave us a very generous refund, even though she was not obligated to and we did not ask for or expect it. Excellent experience all the way around.
