Such a beautiful town, we were perched on top of a hill with views down the valley onto the mountains. The mornings were spectacular. Walking distance to everywhere if you don’t mine hills. Would recommend for a must see. The butcher shop under the apartment was so convenient had everything including meat and we were made to feel very welcome.
Sweet little apartment, lovely host. Sofa bed very uncomfortable and made noise whenever occupant moved. Several delicious restaurants nearby. Parking is a bit of a hassle. Overall nice place, would stay there again if only 2, not 3 guests.
We (a couple) stayed at Le Casette di Lù the day we arrived in Sicily from Rome. Our main purpose of visiting Agrigento was The Valley of the Temples, but we were also interested in the historic feel and the special terrain of Downtown Agrigento. Although you do not feel secure and get to enjoy scenic views in all parts of the downtown, the surroundings of the B&B is exceptional, with a great view from the balcony. Plus, the room was spacious and beautifully decorated, and the service was attentive. We also enjoyed great pistachio croissants freshly made at a neighborhood bakery along with coffee, which are complementary and are provided by the hostess, Lia, according to your request. Caution--try to find a parking space along the railroad; do not try to enter the downtown driving (it's almost impossible to park there, and in the worst-case scenario you'll be stuck in a narrow cul-de-sac where you can't make a U-turn).
The B&B is right in the middle of Agrigento which is a buzzing town with loads of character. Lovely accommodation - we staying in the suite. Wouldn't normally like the idea of the landlady bringing breakfast and making coffee in the room but it was perfect, not intrusive at all. Highly recommended
Lia is a fantastic hostess - she really looks after you. Quirky little bedsit type apartment. There is a bedroom and a separate dining/kitchen area with a double sofa bed so good for groups of two or more. Serviced daily, and kitchenette is great. Milk, tea bags, coffee etc given daily and fresh fruit. We cooked meals and you can have tea and coffee whenever you want. Lots of stairs to get there. Very safe for Agrigento which can be dodgy in parts but has much to reward with. The valley of the temples was fabulous and the via Atanea is charming.
For the fit budget travelled we highly highly recommend this place. Lia is lovely - can't do enough to help you.
A cute B & B in central Agrigento. Lia was a wonderful host. Spacious room and everything was in fine order. Parking and driving around the downtown area is not the easiest, but I think it is worth it!
We stayed one night in Agrigento to visit Valley of Temples. Le Casette di Liu is about 10 minutes drive from the valley so very convenient. We were a party of four and had 3 apartments. Each was different and all were comfortable and well kitted out and very cute. We were served a very good breakfast in our rooms and there are tea and coffee and cooking facilities if you want them. The owner is very helpful and friendly and gave us good restaurant recommendations. Make sure to get directions from her if you are coming by car as we got jammed in the tiny streets that the GPS took us up.
The only bad thing about this stay is that I was only there for one night! What a gorgeous bed and breakfast this is, situated on the most beautiful street filled with vibrant colors and art galore. Lia was a perfect host, from then moment we arrived, to our breakfast she prepared in our room and even taking photos for us when we left. Even though we stayed only one night, I will always have a special memory of the beautiful city of Agrigento and this most gorgeous stay. I will be back soon :)
Be prepared to haul your bags up several street steps and the to upper floor (that is the room we got).
All Rooms are on the small size.
Breakfast served is good and plenty.
Car parking is a big issue. There is a paid parking garage about 10-15 min walk away. Our big problem was that the hotel receptionist who checked us in did not direct us properly where the underground garage is. As such the city center streets are small, one-way and can be confusing for a new visitor. She just showed the location on a simple map and said we cannot miss it! But we missed it because it was several hundred feet away from the location she had described and the parking garage signs are not easily visible. We therefore had to walk up and down twice to understand their directions! This was tiring. Why can't they keep a detailed map with clear landmarks to show where the parking garage entrance is?
Excellent location, well stocked room, great staff
Wonderful location, beautiful room and fully stocked kitchen. Lia was so caring & wonderful, My grown daughter was extremely sick - Lia brought her an herbal remedy, helped us with longterm parking and provided a sumptuous breakfast. Very helpful was the suggestion to use GPS coordinates for finding location. Just 10 minutes away from Valley of the Temples.
This hotel was perfect. It was a great location and we were upgraded to a suite when we arrived. It was a great way to see the sights we wanted to and explore the beautiful city. Our host could not have been more kind and we loved our stay!
I booked having read the reviews which seem uniformly excellent and that proved to be the case. In particular Signora Lia proved to be every bit as charming and helpful as reported and in our case went the extra mile -literally!
Everything was very clean and having a small kitchen stocked with tea, coffee, milk and water was so welcome. Also the rooms were quiet and cool yet only yards from the main street.
I would reccommend Le Cassette di Lù to anyone and it is worth the effort to get there: it is not as difficult to find as we made it! Also Agrigento is worth the visit despite what the guide books might say. They are lovely people in Agrigento.
