Château La Redonde is an exceptional medieval château that combines comfort and elegance with privacy, while offering quick access to the highlights of the Dordogne Valley.
Fully renovated and modernised, this 14th-century château has been thoughtfully extended over the generations and has served as a cherished family holiday home, welcoming (and re-welcoming) guests from around the world for more than 20 years.
The property is ideal as a multi-generational retreat, allowing everyone to enjoy their holiday without compromise. The pool is private, the gardens are private, and much of the surrounding grounds are exclusively yours.
Guests seeking peace and relaxation will find the gardens tranquil and inviting, with magnificent views
over the countryside.
There are two outdoor dining areas—one between the château and the cottage, and another in the back garden—perfect for long, leisurely meals. The generously sized BBQ and fully equipped kitchen make entertaining effortless, while a large indoor dining table provides a comfortable alternative for rainy days. For quiet moments indoors, the first-floor reading room offers a peaceful escape, while children can enjoy their own space in the TV room on the second floor.
Fibre-optic internet provides a strong Wi-Fi connection throughout the house and intovthe gardens.
Everyone will find the private pool, with its Roman steps and generous lounging space, irresistible. With panoramic views and a secluded atmosphere (with a fridge for cold drinks!), the pool area naturally becomes a favourite gathering place for the whole family.
For those wishing to explore, the château backs onto a forest with excellent hiking, running, and cycling trails. Canoeing is available just 1.5 km down the river—we recommend bringing a picnic and stopping at one of the many sandbanks to observe the rich fauna and uniquely preserved flora. Adventurous guests may also enjoy the nearby AirParc climbing course.
History lovers will appreciate the proximity to some of France’s finest medieval sites, including the castles of Beynac and Castelnaud, both just minutes away. The
beautifully preserved towns of Domme and Sarlat are also nearby. The concentration of remarkable villages in the immediate area is truly unique: Belvès, Beynac, Castelnaud, Domme, and La Roque-Gageac.
Local markets are a highlight, with favourites in Sarlat (Wednesday and Saturday), Domme (Thursday), Le Buisson-de-Cadouin (Friday), and the standout market in Saint-Cyprien (Sunday), one of France’s finest and just minutes away. The area also boasts excellent restaurants, cafés, and artisan bakeries, including the much-loved Lucco Pâtisserie just down the road.
In the summer months all villages have a ‘Marché Gourmand’ (open air pop up food stands and music) at least once a week in the evening. There are also many ad hoc markets that take place, such as brocantes, artisans and artists markets, etc.
IMPORTANT: For stays of 2 weeks or more, a weekly cleaning of the kitchen, bathrooms and change of towels and linen will be provided at an additional cost of 200€
