Checked in and keys did not work. When we got in the room it had not been cleaned. Went back to lobby for the 3rd time and had to wait 30-45 minutes for help at the front desk. The new room was cleaned but had a mildew smell and carpet was very stained.

We had a reservation yet. When we arrived, they said, yes, there were no clean rooms. Available, it was almost 7 pm. We waited over a half an hour to get a room

No air-conditioning

The air-conditioning was not working in the room. Instead of giving me a different room they sent maintenance to push the air-conditioner back into the wall! The vibrations of the machine meant that it kept coming out leaving a gap to the outside. With temperatures near 100 degrees outside the room heated up.

Whiskey, dinner and a good night's rest.

What makes the Riverside Hotel so good is the restaurant/bar. Talented mixologists are ready to serve up delicious whiskey drinks or pour a local tap. Also, a rotating menu from the restaurant where I indulged in a perfectly cooked filet with amazing bacon wrapped asparagus. This was what I needed after a full day of driving with my co-pilot Petey. The staff was friendly. My dog was welcome.

Overall had a good stay. The breakfast was good and the staff serving were very nice. Couldn’t find anyone at the front desk, check in was slow and no one was there for check out, tried calling the number they left to reach someone and it never got answered. They were doing a renovation and our rooms looked like they could use some improvement. Was cheap and would stay again if prices stayed the same!

For the budget traveler

Hotel was under renovation so it was a great price. Room was clean, bedroom area was new, bathroom old and warn. If you miss housekeeping in the morning, chances are they wont come back. Shower head was low, so not very comfortable if your over 5 ft 5 in. Pool and lobby area clean. Free breakfast was adequate at best. The highlight of the property is the bar/restaurant. Bar had great atmosphere, drinks and the food was great. Location is close to the interstate, but nothing in the immediate area. Good for a 1 night stay or if your in a tight budget.
