The stay was okay. The room was okay. Dated and the sheets were well worn, bedding was super old . After waiting a hour for someone(no one at desk) to check us in, they gave us a suite. Great view of river but no way to open your window to enjoy it. The hotel entrance was nice and pool. Breakfast was out of a box. The restaurant on the property was nice but it took forever and they got my meal wrong which took forever.

The Hotel was under renovations - but there was no indication when we booked. It was a good price. The AC Unit sounded like a train. We had to cool the room way down and shut the AC off leaving on the fan running. No opening windows created a real stuffy space with the AC malfunctioning. The ice machine down the hall sounded like a jack hammer in the distance. They finally made it stop by unplugging it. Fortunately another machine was donw another hall. Staff are really nice. There is a very good restaurant on the premisis, so that was good.

There was a rodeo in town. I had told the manager we would be late coming in. He said no problem $150 later we find out that the toilet in the room was broken. The maintenance had been in there to fix it. the carpet was soiled and so was the bench seat. The room was incredibly dark the person that took us to our room, the key wouldn’t work and he said that maintenance was new and he forgot to move the room number from one spot to the other, and proceeded to take the room number off the wall and just move it upon calling the property to get back my $150 I was told I would have to drive back seven hours to retrieve it. Since this situation has evolved the manager is nowhere to be found every time I call to ask for at least a check in the mail.

The good: the front desk staff, especially the newer young lady (she said she was a new hire), were nice. The cookies they give you at check in are good. The pool area is nice, though we didn’t use the pool itself, just took a look while we were figuring out what to do. The bad: as soon as we entered the hallway our room was on, we were overwhelmed by the smell of mold/dampness. The room itself smelled of cigarettes as well. When we tried to use the bedside phone to contact the front desk to request a room change, we got busy signals repeatedly. The room felt damp and there was moisture trapped between the panes of the window. There was loud music thumping from a room two doors down. It just felt very unsettling and the room was quite cramped, worn out furniture, with unknown brown stains on the wall above one of the beds. We finally found a number to call from our own phone for the front desk and asked about a room change. We were told they were booked, but we could have a bottle of Febreze to try to cover the smell. We are sensitive to smoke and that is not an acceptable solution. My guess is the hotel used to be one you could smoke in and they haven’t done enough to eradicate the smells. There is also definitely an ongoing moisture issue. The manager was visibly annoyed/defensive when I laid out the chain of events that led us to leave and requesting a refund, but he did agree to it. Expedia was very helpful in facilitating the refund as well.

The atrium area was so neat. It somehow worked perfectly for breakfast in the morning, a gathering place in the afternoon and for kids in the pool later. The woman at the check-in desk was an absolute gem too!

We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and quietness. Nice amenities. We did have 5 people tracking with us and our room was too small for a roll away bed, so we had to cram 3 kids into one bed.

Poor quality and service

The air conditioning and power did not work the first night and they were sold out so I had to keep this room. They claimed they contacted maintenance but nothing was done the next morning at 7 am. I was down at the desk several times and they claimed they would get a new room clean so I could move but this did not occur at 9 am. I was finally moved to a room under construction so I could get ready for my day and then came back at 5 pm and they finally gave me a new room. The A/C in the new room barely kept the room under 75. The stairs and hallway carpets are filthy and the maid never came by one time even though I was there for 4 nights. Do not be deceived by the pictures, this hotel is under construction
