Reserved this home in July of 2025 and never heard from the owners despite asking questions via the VRBO app. On day of check-in, the owners requested I send a picture of my ID via text, stating they “didn’t know how” to request it via VRBO. I told them this made me uncomfortable, but they informed me they would not send the house code unless I sent my ID. I sent my ID and received the house code 10-15 minutes after the expected check-in time. Once at the home we noticed the WIFI didn’t work so we notified the owner. We explained there was no rush on fixing it. The next morning while getting ready, the outlets in the first bedroom kept going out and the breaker needed flipped. I informed the owner of this, but we went about vacation. While shopping, the owners called multiple times and once I was able to respond, they told us to pack our things because of the amount of complaints we made. I requested a full refund, to which the owner agreed, however when I contacted VRBO they informed me the host never initiated it. I messaged the owner stating we cleaned the home and would vacate once the refund was confirmed to be initiated. The owner sent someone to the home, a maintenance man, and he informed us the owners have done this before and are willing to call the cops. Once the refund was confirmed, we vacated immediately.
