Looking for an ocean get-a-way to enjoy those painted beach sunrises and salty evening breezes? "Family Tides" may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "Family Tides" managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate is a 2nd and 3rd floor Townhome with sea sights, sounds, and experiences for the whole family. Beach-combing is just a hop and skip away and sun-seeking is an Ocean BREEZE from one of the homes numerous decks. Sun, Surf, and Salt await you on your CB adventure!
Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The home is on the North End of CB and is a moderate walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In CB, you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier complete with bait, tackles, and more!
The entry to this 2 bedroom and 2.5 bath sandcastle opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped modern kitchen (stove + oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and more). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker ready to help make yourself at home!
A few of the amenities provided by your Owners include courtesy large shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel left in the bathroom of each bath as well. Also, a roll of TP in each bathroom, 1 roll of PT in the kitchen, 2 garbage bags per garbage, laundry pods, dishwasher pods, dryer sheets, hand soap, dish soap, a sponge, coffee, tea, and pure cane sugar in each kitchen. Additional items are likely on sight as well!
As you walk by the breakfast bar, dining table, and living room sitting area, you're greeted by a slider onto a private balcony and outdoor dining space to get your dose of Vitamin Sea! As you head back towards the East side of the home, you pass the half bath and enter the vicinity of both bedrooms up one more flight. Bedrooms #1 and #2 each have their own full on-suite bathroom with respective shower stalls. The master bedroom also has its own private balcony to enjoy ones coffee or vino while sitting and enjoying those Atlantic Ocean breezes!
The home's TWO (2) Queen beds consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. The home's ONE (1) Full pullout has a standard 4" pullout mattress.
There is a 50” Smart WIFI TV along with a WIFI computer connection in the living room and a 42" TV in each bedroom for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!
Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!
The HOME: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE and respective balconies.
The YARD: Guests have full access to their private and fully fenced backyard.
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to ONE (1) assigned 8'x14' garage space below the unit. Oversized vehicles (length or height wise) maybe have trouble utilizing the garage space. There IS a first come first serve townhome space directly to the left of your garage.
•Closest BEACH access: Periwinkle Public Beach Access (Periwinkle Lane).
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern NC, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.
The home itself is approximately one block from the nearest beach access. The property is a moderate walk or short drive from downtown CB with its shops, activities and dining. Downtown KB is a hop and skip away with its fishing pier and aquarium. Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community!
CB and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through CB State Park, Fishing on the KB Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!
After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.

GOLF CARTS
•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.
• SWRE contractual quiet hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may allow more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all guests, locals, and neighbors alike have an enjoyable experience.
•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.
