Das Hotel ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und bietet ein gutes Frühstück in einem sehr schönen Raum. Unser Standardzimmer war sehr klein und unter dem Dach und meines Erachtens dem Preis nicht angemessen. Außerdem lag es direkt neben dem Auzug, der beim Anfahren und Halten einen mörderischen Krach produziert, sodass wir davon geweckt wurden. So sind wir gegen Aufpreis in ein deutlich größeres Zimmer im hinteren Gebäude umgezogen. Dies war ein schöner Raum, aber leider waren auch hier die Betten hart.

Beautiful historic building in great condition. The hotel manager called us ahead of time to check on our ETA, and provided us with instructions for our check in after hours. The hotel has its own parking area within own premises. The room was very nice, clean and with a roomy bathroom. The breakfast was served in an expansive glass room, and there was a good selection of quality food.

The situation was good and the hotel pleasant. Staff downright rude - we asked where the bar was for pre-dinner drinks only to find they'd locked it up within 10 minutes of asking. Presumably they didn't like the thought of seven men having a drink despite the fact that all in their sixties or seventies. We were then offered to be served drinks outside but no-one came in 15 minutes so we took our business elsewhere. We will not be returning to this establishment which is a pity as a pleasant hotel.

Awkward bathroom

I didn't feel safe getting into & out of the combined bath/shower. The access was restricted by a 45 degree angled roof. I had a fear of slipping, especially getting out of the bath. Also the beautifully tiled floor is slippy if water touches it. This was my only problem.

Perfect spot for watching steam trains

We could photograph trains right from hotel balcony . The breakfast was sumptuous, and the bar excelllent.

Hotel Prinzenpalais, Bad Doberan

This really is a gem of a hotel situated in Bad Doberan in north Germany. I only stayed for one night but wished I had booked for longer. The village itself is pleasant and quiet so is a perfect place to relax. I went to travel on Der Molli, a 3ft narrow guage steam railway that runs through the main street and both the railway and the hotel are highly recommended.
