This hotem advertised a swimming pool as part of the guest facilities however there is no pool at this location.The main issue at this slightly better than average hotel is that we paid in advance for breakfast for our group, whem we booked on the Expedia website the hotel did not receive the correvt booking information from Expedia .and charged us an additional £140 for the weekend breakfast
We were there for the Pete shops boys in the castle...just one night but we stayed there before last year for one night. Very good position , great parking good hotel will stay again.
Hotel room ok bathroom very dated. Bath grubby and dark marks on anti slip surface. Wouldn’t have bathed in it ok for a shower. So loud during the night could hear music and people shouting until 3am. Then bin men etc at 7am. Beds really comfy.
Really friendly and personable staff at checkin. Issue with TV remote resolved really quickly parking easy. Car park clean and accessible easily. Bar/restraint has atmosphere and live piano player
Everything was wonderful, from the staff to the hotel, I loved it.

The Marriott is showing its age so while the furniture and fittings are showing their age they were originally quality fittings. There’s a restaurant on site and a slew of good places to wine and dine on the doorstep and excellent shopping too. The major tourist attraction is the nearby castle and Bute Park, and the dockside is a 30-odd minute walk away by the river. I like the fridge and safe plus an adequate gym but once again found hotel pillows hard and unfortable.
We had a nice room with 2 double beds with great views of the castle and stadium. Unfortunately, the bathroom had no extractor fan and the water didnt drain whilst in the shower/bath. This meant the bathroom was like a steam room once someone had a shower. The mirrors took an age to clear. By the time 2 or 3 people had a shower it was not worth going in there to look in the mirror etc.
Possibly rhe worst part was the noise. The music from bars opposite was clearly heard until 4am. Sadly one of my friends cudnt sleep through it and had an awful nights sleep.
Hotel was smart, in a great location and the food in Browns restaurant was amazing.
However, the condition of the bathroom wasn’t great. The extractor fan wasn’t working, the plug for the sink was stuck closed. The lever for switching from tap to shower on didn’t work at all. But since the bed was so uncomfortable there was no chance of a lie-in so we had plenty of time for a bath instead, or at least we would have if the plug in the bath actually closed properly so the water didn’t drain out in a few minutes!!
