Convenient location, nice hotel.

Loved our stay here. Really great location for attending an event at principality stadium. Also great location for shopping and restaurants. Noticed the bar opposite was a bit noisy into the night. Bit confusing getting to the car park but after ringing the hotel and getting pre recorded instructions and postcode we found it no problem. Staff were very helpful and happy. Not sure if there are stairs to lobby as we only found the emergency exit ones but waiting for lift can take a while. Overall lovely stay and will be back if attending another show or staying for shopping!

The hotel itself is fantastic. The rooms were hot, even though the air con was on and the bathrooms were even hotter! Really clean and staff are good, but the rooms are a bit dated.

Great hotel for a stay in Cardiff. Lovely staff. Comfortable room. Everywhere walkable. Bit difficult finding their car park as you are directed down a bus car and taxi access road. There are signs leading to that road but a bit confusing. Would help to have a sign on the access road saying Marriott parking.

The building is old which means you may expect a few things that you will be dealing with such as A/C not working properly or having a leak on the shower head. Staff was super helpful and managed to send over the repair man to fix the shower head and provided fans to keep the room cooler. Unfortunately, the air con system is very outdated.

Great hotel location iffy if you need a good sleep

Hotel is perfect but unfortunately my room faced a 90s club that was open until 4am. Ended up sleeping in the bathroom! Avoid 411 unless you’re partying over at Retro!

This is the most dated Marriott I’ve ever stayed in — the entire property feels like it’s in serious need of a makeover. The corridors have an odd smell and the carpets are visibly worn. The Wi-Fi was painfully slow, which made it hard to stay connected. On the plus side, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a convenient location right in the city centre, but this also means it can get quite noisy from the street, especially on weekends. Overall, an average stay that could be vastly improved with some updates.

Clean hotel. Pillows were broken and very hard. Reception service was not very friendly or helpful. Straightaway declining every request we made without even checking. Seemed a bit of racist behaviour and treating us like peasants judging us by the manners as we visited an expensive hotel for the first time. No universal plug available which is a disappointment for such a versatile hotel as many people travel from across Europe and do not have typical UK plugs more often. One side lamp was not functional and we were told room is ready to use. Another disappointment, why pay so much for a hotel that doesn’t even provide fully functional lights. Could not waste time on getting it fixed and letting someone into the room to disrupt our privacy. TV is useless, no Netflix provided even for us to use our own account. Pretty boring rooms. Charging 18£ parking fee on top of 120£ room for a night is daylight robbery! Would always choose another hotel over marriot when visiting cardiff.
