Airtstream on rooftop was great. Paid R1300 for a bottle of whiskey when bar closed. Drank half of it and left it outside on table just outside of our room. Next morning it was gone. Asked them about it and even seen it back in the bar they accused other people of stealing it.
Very friendly staff. Room was basic and needed a bit of tlc to be honest. Comfortable but a maximum if 3 star accomodation. Breakfast good but slow service.
They advertise a roof top bar but during our entire stay it was booked for private parties and thus inaccessible for all but one night

This was a last second purchase and was limited by cost so This is a cute hotel in the heart of the CBD, although the location could be considered a bit on the sketch side. Breakfast was include and well made from the onsite restaurant which was a plus. And hotel staff assisted with getting us scheduled on a great tour. Tap water provided. TV only 5 stations. However...
BEWARE potential hotel guest especially if you are in the 2nd story family room - Make sure they do not have an event going on in the "Rabbit Hole" event room. They have other event rooms so you could experience the same outrage we had in different rooms depending on your proximity to one of there other event rooms during your stay as we found the hard way.
When the hotel makes an excuse note and gives you earplugs before the event you know it is going to be bad. I mean who does that? I thought I booked a hotel not an admission to a club! Someone had booked a birthday party scheduled till midnight, however the party went on and on and on till 0200+ and with the cheap earplugs the hotel gave us you could still hear the noise from our family room suite. Even when the cheap earplugs were not falling out of you ears you could feel the vibration all night long. So yes after being jetlagged and tired already this was by far the worst sleeping experience me and my family have ever had a hotel. I do not accept there apology and do not have any understanding as how they can treat there paying guest such an ordeal.
I waited five years to book this trip and to stay in the streamline caravans on the roof of this hotel, when we got there, we greeted by the reception who was lovely very happy. The staff were very polite and very friendly. I just don’t think the Management training them properly so it’s not their fault. They were not able to take care of the problem.
We checked into the stream line on the roof. It was fantastic exactly as I remembered it. Our first night was great. This was a very important vacation with my partner.
we went out touring got back at 1 o’clock, and our trailer was at 38°. We had just flown 20 hours and still jet lag. We’re hoping to come back and get a little rest before going out again impossible way too hot. The room has been cleaned in the staff left it like that at 38° why it’s crazy so I spoke to the office. They said they would take care of it. We went out came back home at night and again still 35°. It’s now midnight we have to leave in the morning. I spoke to the downstairs desk after 30 min. He said if we picked all our stuff up, we could move into a room for the night to pack all your stuff at midnight is an absolute mission. I was told the next day that I could’ve left my stuff in the room and just go and spend the night in the new room. All the Management can do was say sorry, it didn’t even offer to buy us a drink. Nothing just empty sorries… when will people realize especially management that sorry is not enough…
Wow! Such a unique place to stay! We were first greeted by such kind staff and received very thorough information! Then took the original style elevator up to our room! Such an incredible touch to really enhance the style of the hotel! The rooms were clean and very comfortable beds! There is a few clubs in the area as well as a rooftop bar at the hotel but the solid wood doors make it so you can’t hear anything while in your room! Huge points for that! A lot of hotels are so cheaply made or renovated. The staff went above and beyond to make me a special tea that wasn’t on the menus and I was so appreciative! They did a really great job decorating and redoing this old building into a hotel! Highly recommend staying here for your Cape Town visit!
Wasnt as loud as expected at night being by the roof top bar. Lovely place. Lovely food. Will go back again as its close to all the main attractions in cape town.

They sent an email that we would receive a complementary upgrade. Upon arrival we receive it with a room with no view, Std room...Also were not told in advance of R100 parking fee. It was a surprise when we left.
Amazing room, very helpful and friendly staff, the hotel decor was so cool, included breakfast was so good, shout out to the avocado toast with poached eggs and cereal with yogurt! The city tour bus station was a few feet from the hotel, so convenient to take tours!
Bugs and cackerlaches in the room, window not closing, bath tub in terible shape, shower almost cold water and runnin poorly, toilet in the breakfast room flooded, owerall shape old and dirty. The worst hotel I ever experienced. The 4 stars are a joke. Checked out after the first night
The Grand Daddy Boutique Hotel is a jewel amongst the Victorian buildings on Long Street. The stylish rooms, hipster, rooftop bar scene, and incredibly friendly staff make this hotel a must-stay when I'm in Cape Town.
I enjoyed my stay at the Grand Daddy Boutique Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was delicious and again, very nice staff on-site. The room was clean, comfortable, and quite. Plus, the hotel had great Wi-Fi all over, which I needed for work. Next time I come to Cape Town, I will stay here again but try one of the airstreams on the rooftop.
