For a lung-full of sea air, head to the much sought after seaside town of Whitstable, Dymchurch, Dungeness, Folkestone and Sandgate where generations have earned their living from the sea and shaped the way these pretty little resorts are today. Whitstable, famous for its tasty sea food and annual lobster festival it boasts lots if great, local eateries so foodies really will be spoilt for choice. If the sun is out, make your way down to the pebble beach and go for a paddle along the shoreline. Or, head to Herne Bay with its wide sandy beach and pretty painted beach huts and soak up some sun or maybe enjoy a bracing coastal walk. Dover and Leeds castles are also worth a visit, both sites have great historic interest.Within a 10 minute walk you can access Stelling Minnis Common which comprises 124 acres (50 hectares), owned by the Trustees of the late Lord Tomlin of Ash, and is one of the last remaining unenclosed manorial commons in Kent. An ideal location for a peaceful walk to enjoy the wildlife.
