We took the cable car up to the top of thr mountain and found this little look out spot through the trees.
Cannon Mountain Tramway; Franconia, New Hampshire Took the tramway up the 4000 ft Cannon Mountain and was treated with spectacular views. Despite it being a gorgeous fall day, prime leaf-peeping season, the 80 person tram only took a couple minutes to travel up or down and for about $13 per adult, it is well worth it. They do offer one way tickets for those willing to hike the other direction. There is a snack bar at the top but it was very crowded. The bar wasn't as crowded but only offers beer and drinks.

The chalet provided our family all that was necessary for an enjoyable two night stay. The location was perfect for what we had planned with the short amount of time that we had there. The only suggestion would be to upgrade the beds as they were not that comfortable.
