1-Waited 30 minutes to request a drink at the swim up bar, we left with no drink. 2-The bars only had cheap licor. 3-The restaurants current system doesn’t work- there no reservations so we waited 3 hours to get in the steak house. 4- long lines everyday at all the restaurants ( no reservations allowed) The main issue we had was the emergency alarm going off 3 nights in a row, the first two nights was followed by a false alarm announcement. Third night at 5 am we were evacuated but there was a chaos because there are no stairs sign, nobody knew where the stairs were, we started opening doors until we found the door to the stairs. Nobody from the hotel was outside directing people, after going down 10 floors other guests told us that it was another false alarm ( hotel staff was nowhere to be found) This was our first time taking the whole family to a RIU, we praised them before and now I am very disappointed.

The room was cleaned due to new building. Staffs are nice. The only part i did not like was the foods. My family stayed for a week but foods are the same everyday. Dining restaurant was limited hours and people for thousands or tourists. The foods are not consider for 5 stars hotel.

It was our first time visiting Cancun. The weather was great, and the hotel was very new and clean. We faced the ocean and see the sunrise every day. The ocean-view room was particularly nice, and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was also good, and the hotel is about a 7-minute walk from the Cancún side. The hotel is very close to the airport and also offers a shuttle bus service. We joined a snorkeling tour booked through the hotel, and the experience was excellent. We also took a boat to Isla Mujeres on our own for a day trip. Using Uber was convenient, and we felt that the safety level was high. However, when we made the reservation, we were expecting two queen-size beds. When we arrived at the hotel, only one king-size bed was arranged, which was slightly inconvenient for three adults. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.

My family and I were very disappointed in the food and dining options. They have several restaurants onsite but they serve the same food from the buffet, no variations, and are only open from 6pm-10pm. Food was not what you would expect, even the Mexican food wasn't good. My grandson and I got sick on the first day, and they would not allow us to bring food to our room. No activities available for teenagers,other than pool and beach. Limited entertainment, and the band was subpar. I rate the experience a 6 out of 10. Would not stay there again.

The decided to do a free upgrade with double beds but the room they gave me was dirty. So i went back down stairs they assigned a new room on the first floor.... the room was stinky and the ac did not workbo was hot all night... they changed the room that morning and after that every thing was ok other than us having to wait until 3 to go backbin room

Riu Ventura is a new property. They have some positives and still some things to figure out. Biggest positive is that you are allowed to attend the amazing Riu Party's at Caribe while you stay at any of the properties. Location: On the beach in the hotel row, but still about 20-30min drive to downtown depending on traffic. The ocean wasn't as calm (red flag everyday) and swimmable as it was at Riu Caribe, for example. Room/Amenities: Rooms are new with good amenities and good size. However, at least one elevator was broken every day we were there. Food: Big disappointment. We tried all the time dining restaurants - Kullinariun and Steakhouse were the only one which were at fine dining level. Wine selection is very limited (2 reds and 2 whites) and staff aren't trained to serve wine at the right temperature. The biggest problem is that to go to one of the fine dining restaurants you have to stand in the line at 5:30pm even before the restaurant opens at 6pm. You are still not guaranteed a seat and sometimes have to wait 2-3hrs till a table becomes available (we got our table at 8:15pm at the Seatkbouse, that too with some insistence. Allowing reservations would allow this major inconvenience and from guests lining up from 5pm onwards for limited spots. Staff: Very nice and trying to be helpful. But they are just trying to follow the procedures which aren't optimized. Riu Party: Amazing atmosphere and well organized. The bus transportation back was a big mess.

We are checking out this morning from our 5 day stay celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with a group of 18. The resort was beautiful - not huge - but a beautiful spot on the beach. Check in was a nightmare for our 7 rooms. They were over sold on our ocean front rooms and gave us side tower rooms with a slit of ocean. When we asked to be moved they said “come back tomorrow”. Jade at reception was the worst. She gave my elderly parents an oceanfront suite 1131 because nothing else was available - then told them they had to get out the next morning. Not until I called a manager and threatened to ask for a refund for all of our other rooms did they agree to let them stay in that room. Food quality was subpar. You had to line up for restaurants at 5pm to hope to get seats for later that evening. Steaks were raw and inedible. We left full plates untouched. Just about the same food every day. We knew going in to this 5 night booking that there would be hiccups at a new resort but we certainly didn’t expect rude front lobby staff and complete disorganization. This is definitely not a 5 star. Having said that, there were some really lovely waiters at the buffet who made our stay better. And because we were in a big group, we had a great time together as a family.

It’s new and clean because it is new. But it is clear and very obvious that the hotel is trying to save money in every possible way, not to mention the horrendous mark up on the items in their hotel store (ex : $32 for a sunscreen that is $8 on US Amazon). What is the point of ‘all inclusive’ if it requires you to plan your entire day around it AND line up for it for at least half an hour every time? If you want to get dinner at an actual sit down restaurant (1/2 of their dinner options), you need to line up at least 30 minutes before dinner time. This means you need to remove yourself from pool/beach hours before the sunset, so you can dress appropriately for their dinner venue, and line up, which fills up in <30min. This defeats the whole purpose of visiting all inclusive. Also they categorize themselves as 5 stars but in reality they are a 4 star resort. When you consider that, they are no longer a reasonable cost option. Their programming is quite lackluster, and their demographic is also very mixed in that the resort isn’t family oriented or adult oriented and the programming/facilities show that as well. Honestly I was let down by this place. I have been to Cancun multiple times and safe to say I won’t be returning to this or any Riu properties in general. I go to all inclusive to relax but the experience I got was basically figuring out how to ‘play their game’ of how to navigate the resort with their ‘save $$$’ crap. TLDR: new looking, but cheap ass in all manner

Facility is beautiful and kept extremely clean. Most of the staff is friendly, and very attentive. Check in was a headache, our room wasn’t ready until almost three hours past check in. We had reserved two rooms and they tried giving us a single bed room when both rooms had been reserved under two beds. Immediately upon going into one of the rooms we had to call down to get shampoo and conditioner swiped out since the bottles were empty. Also had to request additional towels as they only provided two sets even though the room is for four people. We had three, still not enough towels. Restaurants don’t do reservations but you must get in line at least 45 minutes before it opens to be able to eat at the restaurant you choose. They have very LIMITED seating and only take a specific number of guests per night. Unless you go to the buffet, the other restaurants can only accommodate about 500 guests per night, even though the resort has at least 3 to 4 times that number of guests. Make sure to ask for alcohol in your drinks or many times you get virgin drinks.

While the property is well kept there are still many bugs to work out being new. The restaurants were not prepared for the amount of people visiting nor was the food just okay. The temperature of the food was often cool as things had been sitting out too long. Also staff need more training. This location very much caters to families not great for no kids.

We stayed here for four nights and had a mixed experience. The resort is new and very clean, with comfortable rooms and beds. Our oceanfront room had a stunning view, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were several issues. We booked a room for four that listed either two queen beds or one king bed. In most hotels, a king room for four would include a sofa bed, but not here. On our first night, they had run out of two-queen rooms, so our family had to share one bed. The staff did help reserve a two-queen room for the rest of our stay, but we had to move rooms the next day. Dining was disappointing. There’s no reservation system, so you either line up early or wait 1.5–2 hours after restaurants open. During our stay, we only managed to eat at Kaori once, and it was buffet-style. The food there and at the main buffet was just okay, nothing memorable. The resort itself is fairly small, with one main building, a few pools, and a private beach. The beach had strong waves during our stay, which limited swimming, though this was expected given the location. Another downside was the lack of room service, which is surprising for a five-star resort. For early excursions (around 6:30 a.m.), the buffet isn’t open yet, so you need to handle breakfast on your own. Overall, the resort has a great view and comfortable rooms, but the dining experience and missing services were a letdown.

Room very small for 6people, not enough restaurants, not enough kids program, not professional services in reception, not enough information for trip agencies, food quality in restaurants very poor( except la hacienda) uncomfortable smell in the room due to new construction, air conditioner not working properly. I will not recommend nor coming back to RIU HOTEL SERVICE.

The hotel location was wonderful, brand new hotel, so rooms were very clean, bed and sheets new and comfortable. Person who works there very kind and helpful, the only receptionist was a little confused about services. That happened for me that I needed to upgrade our room, this took 2 days and they postponed to next day. The food quality not very good, same menu and I/we feel not variety of food. At all, we enjoy stay and services was good and offer us shuttle free that very good for us. Except food, everything was wonderful
