This hotel was very close to earning five stars, but I ultimately rated it a four for two practical reasons. First, there were no operational ATMs on the property, which was inconvenient. Second, there was no simple buffet or grab-and-go option available during regular hours for a quick bite, which would have been a nice amenity. That said, the positives were excellent. The staff was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the stay. The room was excellent: clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Room service was fast and efficient, though the menu was somewhat limited. Poolside service was a highlight, with great food and drink service and attentive staff. Overall, a very strong experience with exceptional service and accommodations. With just a few practical improvements, this would easily be a five-star hotel.

This is my 9th trip to the Cancun hotel zone in the last 13 years, and unfortunately, this has been the most disappointing room view I’ve ever received. We booked a “resort view” room, but ended up facing a construction site. We weren’t expecting anything exceptional—we live by the water back home—but we did ask the front desk for a well-located room if possible. Instead, we were given one of the least appealing views on the property. The staff have been kind and helpful, but based on our first day, the food and drinks are just average. In fact, the food across the restaurants is just average, and the drinks are standard options with no premium selections included. This makes the overall experience feel like just another generic Cancun hotel, far from what you would expect from the Marriott brand. Several operational issues affected our stay. They frequently ran out of large bottles of water, especially on weekends, which they call “transfer days.” It’s also extremely difficult to secure reservations at the better restaurants, particularly on weekends. Overall, everything feels like a struggle rather than a relaxing vacation. While the rooms appear recently renovated, the hotel as a whole still feels outdated. Considering the Marriott name, this stay has been a kind of disappointment. Unfortunately, we’re not planning to return, and we won’t be recommending this property to any of our friends.

Every detail had been thought of, anticipated, and planned for. This was a very expensive family reunion of 14 people and well worth every penny. The food was delicious at all of their restaurants, Joel at Casa Madre and Pablo by the pool were amazing. not enough good things to say about this place, we loved it.
