What a wonderful place with breath taking views!!We completely loved our stay at BHF Residences Bordadeira!!! The host were so kind and easy to communicate with. The location is fabulous to see the south and western side of the island. A small town feel and still close to amazing restaurants , cafes, groceries, and tourist places. The house is exactly like you see in the pictures. We loved watch the open views to the ocean and the villages on the adjacent valley and mountain side. We loved listening g to the running water coming down the mountain and the morning song of the local rooster. We adore this home and the daily visit from a local cat. ( we named her Kitty Madeira). We will 100% be back to stay again!! Don’t miss out of this great place!!!

Rhapsodic Window Onto This Island Jewel

Part II of my Review The small community of Loreto where the Casa is located, has one main street with several bars, an appliance shop, a market, and a grocery store. The grocery is well stocked (and there is also a chain of large modern groceries scattered around the island). We enjoyed Sunday service at the Catholic Church in town with its outside pews. We also especially enjoyed discovering the network of verada that connected homes and gardens in the terrraced hillsides. Suddenly, at the end of a week we uncovered the community of this lovely little town. Many thanks to Odete and JoĂŁo who welcomed us so graciously to their property. Odete was particularly helpful in responding immediately to questions about the very modern kitchen appliances (a convection oven and an induction range). I am pleased to be able to sing the praises of Casa da Bordadeira with unrestrained enthusiasm.

Lovely little property

We stayed at the Casa da Bordadeira over Christmas and had a fabulous time. The property was a cosy little place to spend time together, and a great base for hitting the Levada walks. Communication before arrival from the host was excellent and clear, and included everything we needed to know before arriving, during our stay and upon departure. The view from the property has to be seen to be believed, absolutely stunning. Though do make sure you are a confident driver in a good quality hire-car, as it's quite the rollercoaster ride getting up and down the incredibly steep hills! Be aware that the bedroom is near to a road with frequent passing cars - it didn't bother us, but worth being aware of if you are particularly sensitive to traffic noise at night. All in all, a great stay - thank you to our hosts for having us :)

Great Location with Nice View of the Atlantic Ocean

This a beautifully restored cottage that is tastefully decorated and has all the most modern appliances and kitchen utensils. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Perfect little house on the hill

This house is perfect for two people and is fully equipped with everything you may need. I particularly liked sitting in the little garden looking out at the ocean. For us the location was ideal, there is a supermarket, bar and restaurant within easy walking distance and the drive to the beach at Calheta, where there are more restaurants, takes about 5 minutes. Joao speaks excellent English, thank goodness, and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Driving around Madeira can be a bit tricky as some of the hills are extremely steep and away from the towns the roads can be poorly maintained. Whilst there we walked four of the levada routes which is an excellent way of seeing Madeira and meeting people. We did try to book an ocean tour to see the whales and dolphins but we left it too late in our stay and missed out due to ocean conditions so if this is something you would like to do check it out early in your stay. We would love to visit Madeira again and would have no hesitation in staying in this little house but we would probably visit in July/August when the weather is usually better.

Es war herrlich Das Appartment war sauber und hat alles was man braucht um sich wohlzufĂŒhlen, auch fĂŒr Selbstversorgung, gute SpĂŒlmaschine, Induktionskochfeld, diverse KĂŒchengerĂ€te, Delta Kapselkaffeemaschine (vergleichbar mit Nespresso), etc..Die Gastgeber Odete und Joao sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Auf Anmerkung im Bad sei es sehr kĂŒhl und die Frage, wo man Holz fĂŒr den Kamin bekommt, brachten sie uns am gleichen Abend eine Heizung fĂŒr das Bad und Holz fĂŒr den Kamin.Ein besonderes Extra war die wundervoll charmante Katze die mehrmals tĂ€glich zum "Kuscheln" vorbeikam oder einfach zum sonnen auf der Terasse lag. Wir haben es geliebt

We had a great stay at Casa Bordadeira. The house was clean, comfortable, and just as expected. Some morning street noise from passing cars, but it wasn’t a big issue. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Highly recommend!
