Dumpy property, more like a hostel then a lodge.
Total dump, had live spiders, spider webs, cob webs, flying bugs, dirty, dead bugs and lizards every where, even a few bugs crawling on the beds as we tried to sleep. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Giant gaps under the exterior doors so bugs and crabs crawl right inside the rooms at night. Shower handle broke right off when used for first time, second shower water barely came out of the sprayer. Kitchen dishes and pans stunk, were dusty and had dead bugs on them too, even in the fridge. Couch was totally disgusting, no one wanted to sit on it, WiFi and AC didn’t work either. I wouldn’t suggest staying here even if you just plan on sleeping there, it’s warm and super humid with out AC is uncomfortable and sticky. Our friends all found way nicer properties in Playa Grande for similar price. We left after literally 1 night and stayed at the Greatful Hotel the rest of our visit, way nicer, clean, working AC and showers, plus free breakfast every morning. The lodge at Casa Serena is more like a hostel, all rooms are accessed from individual exterior doors, they didn’t show that in the pictures. My family totally didn’t feel comfortable staying there, we contacted the owner and he didn’t care at all about our complaints, In fact he tried to convince us we were wrong for leaving even after I sent him all the pictures. Will never book this place again, everywhere else in Playa Grande was had super nice and had people that actually cared about quality.
