Loved the room. Very nice staff, excellent local walks. Dinner was pretty good. Good breakfast and packed lunch included in the price, excellent value. Dog friendly, though you have to eat in a quirky little greenhouse. EV charging on site was handy.

Lovely countryside hotel

Very pleasant place with friendly staff. The food in the restaurant was very good for dinner and breakfast. Attractive grounds with a short sculpture walk around the garden. Only potential problem is that it can be noisy in the main building. It’s a very old house and the floors creak. We had someone above us who woke at 5am and chose to pace back and forth for the next few hours. This was very annoying so you may want to consider this before booking a room in the main house.

Lovely hotel!

A short two night stay. We have stayed here half a dozen times over many years. The buildings are beautiful 17th Century and the decor is sympathetic to the period. Food is a good standard they have an AA Rosette. Quiet location and enthusiastic staff. We strongly recommend it!

A very friendly hotel with old fashioned service. The complimentary packed lunches were very welcome and a lovely surprise. The evening meal was very good and the atmosphere in the conservatory was enhanced by the pianist.

Perfect hotel for exploring the peaks.

Superb hotel with all the beauty of an old fashioned hotel but with all the modern amenities. Immaculately kept buildings and grounds. Extremely friendly, welcoming and efficient staff in all areas of hotel. Breakfast was 10/10. Great selection and hot food perfectly cooked to order. Lots of extras including a lovely touch of a preordered pack lunch to take on hikes. Everything was top class inc products in room. Can’t fault it at all. A fabulous find and I’ll be back.
