Playin' Hooky is nestled in the heart of Hochatown. A spacious custom–built luxury cabin with 5K-bedrooms and 7-baths, spanning 4400 sq ft. of living space with an additional 1200 sq ft. of covered porches. Conveniently located to Broken Bow Lake, Beavers Bend State Park, Cedar Creek Golf Course, Abendigo's Grill & Patio, Grateful Head Pizza, The Blue Rooster, Girls Gone Wine and all the other attractions, or relax at the cabin and enjoy time away from the hustle.

Playin' Hooky features 1.3 acres in a heavily-treed neighborhood with little traffic, so you can enjoy your time here without the noise. The cabin boasts a picturesque, three-story wall of windows in the family room, floor-to-ceiling windows in the open dining room and the master- bedroom. Mature gorgeous pine trees surround the cabin. Playin' Hooky has a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with an oversized island, granite countertops, and double ovens. The large open floor plan, offers plenty of room to enjoy cooking, dining and gathering with your friends and family.

Playin' Hooky has 5 king bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. Downstairs is the master suite, with access to the expansive covered porch. The master bathroom has two separate his and her vanities, a large walk-in double shower head and a separate soaker tub. Two more king bedrooms, each with a full bathroom and walk-in showers are also conveniently located downstairs. The other two king bedrooms are upstairs, each with a full bathroom and tub/shower combinations and walk in closets. One of the upstairs king bedrooms also has a daybed and trundle bed. The large upstairs game room has a sleeper sofa, two built-in twin bunk beds, and an additional half-bath.

There are numerous activities to enjoy while staying at Playin' Hooky. While inside, catch your favorite team or sporting event fireside near the beautiful stone fireplace. Upstairs in the loft, adults and kids alike will be entertained by a friendly game of foosball or shuffleboard. The newly added custom arcade features a 4500 game multicade. The game room is another great space to chill inside watching a movie on the 75-inch HDTV.

While enjoying your morning cup of coffee or relaxing and reading a book, take in the sounds of nature on the roomy back porch. The covered dining, seating area and the uncovered patio, make a great spot to stargaze the beautiful Oklahoma sky. Early mornings and dusk are the perfect time to spot deer from the back porch year-round.

What a beautiful home! Everything was exactly as described, but even better. The design and furnishings of the home are wonderful, and it was spotless. We have never been in a home so well appointed as to everything we could possibly need. The kitchen had every gadget and item we might have wanted.12 of us stayed ranging in ages from 8 to 70 and we had more than enough room for everyone. The game room upstairs, all of the fun things outside, and the hot tub made for so much fun and relaxation.The location of the home is very accessible for getting into Hochatown and around the area for kayaking, hiking, and we even enjoyed the little train ride.All interactions with our great host were pleasant and professional. We absolutely want to stay here again, and will highly recommend it to anyone.We have stayed in many rental vacation homes and this is now first on the list in all categories!

Host was every prompt and easy to communicate with. Had an awesome girl’s weekend!! Due to the cold, we stayed in a lot and played games, did art and a giant puzzle. Laughed and laughed. Did venture out to Girls Gone Wine and the Grateful dead pizza place. A few in the group went shopping around the little boutique stores. Overall GREAT LOCATION and lovely clean cabin.

The cabin was perfect for Christmas with our family. The Christmas tree in the living room along with a small tree in each room was the bestThe host left the sweetest card upon arrival welcoming our family. The cabin was the most well equipped we have ever stayed in. There was plenty of space inside and out for us to play, relax and just be together. We had a super great host!! She was very helpful on everything. This house is totally awesome!! The kitchen is outstanding with anything you could possibly need. All the beds were super comfortable. The master bathroom was over the top nice. With a super shower. The kids loved the play room with bunk beds, they loved the ping pong table and the back yard to run and play in. There was a swingset too!!! We had a washer and dryer that helped so much! We highly recommend this beautiful house. I can’t say enough about Renee, she was always available when we called or text. This is a very nice roomy open house for a large family. We just loved Playing Hooky!

We rent different VRBO homes yearly and this one slammed it out of the park. 5 master suites. Best supplied kitchen i've seen. But roasting marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace was such a huge treat for the grandkids! So peaceful and relaxing. 5 star host and property. 10 out of 10 in experience.

This was a great place for my friends and I. We loved the stay. Rooms were nice and kitchen was plenty big enough for cooking. I’m sure anyone here will enjoy it. Only thing to note is if you stay here, make sure to have a car that is not too low to the ground. The road leading in to the driveway has some very large pot holes that you cannot navigate around.

Fantastic Family Getaway

Amazing property

This cabin is absolutely amazing inside and out. There is so much to do that we didn’t feel like we needed to go anywhere to have fun. Kids loved the time here. The communication with the property manager fast and easy, responded immediately to all my questions and kept us informed of everything going on leading up to the trip. Couple’s Valentine’s Getaway

5 couples wanted a quick Valentine’s getaway. This cabin was perfect because of the 5 king suites. It was very clean and smelled good upon entrance. The kitchen was not only well stocked, it had top notch serving ware and utensils. They paid attention to every detail to make this feel like home away from home. The host’s communication / responses were always swift. This was our 3rd time visiting the area. We will definitely be back for another stay at Playing Hooky. It was the perfect getaway.

Family Christmas

Our family stayed at Playin’ Hooky the weekend before Christmas. It was the perfect setting for our group of twelve. The house was exactly as pictured with the wonderful addition of Christmas decor. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable, each with its own attached bathroom. The kitchen was very well stocked and even included coffee and snacks! We didn’t use the hot tub but made use of the fire pit, play set and ping pong table. Ranae, the property manager was very helpful and the house was beautifully clean. We would definitely love to return to this wonderful house.

Great Family Christmas Vacation

Wonderful Property

This is our second time staying at Playin’ Hooky. First in September 2022 and now November 2024. Our event is a family reunion where we stay at 3 properties. This house was perfect for the couples with kids under the age of 8. It was spotless when we walked in and had everything we needed for the weekend. The cable is dish and we were not able to use it on one day because of dense fog but the owner was extremely communicative and helpful in trying to get it restored. We hope to stay again in 2026 when we have another reunion!

This was the perfect property for a couple’s trip. Each of the four couples on our trip had their own beautiful room with an en-suite bathroom. The property manager was attentive and accommodating, and the amenities were great. The cabin was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The location convenient while still feeling remote—very close to both Grateful Head and Abendigos.

Good memories at a good cabin.

We stayed 5 days. Good looking cabin. Good lay out as well. Rooms were clean and beds felt comfy. Bathrooms were nice. Master bathroom suite is gorgeous. Everything in the house was layed out just right. Beautiful back patio leading out to your own little forest in the back. We saw a family of 7 deer one morning, and they got really close to us. Also, we had 2 visting little cute raccoons 2 nights in a row. Hehe. There was a nice new grill, playset was in good shape, and the firepit was just peaceful and awesome to sit around. The host (Ranae) was very responsive and kind from beginning to end. We had a great time with family and made a lot of memories this year. I would recommend this cabin to others! 😊
