Nightly charge for parking in adjacent outdoor hotel lot was unexpected/not disclosed on Hotels.com or at check-in. Plus, I've stayed at many, many Hampton Inn properties, and have never been charged for parking during my stays.

Good overnight stay

Check in clerk was very accommodating. Have us a great room. Pool was in great condition, clean, indoors, great treat in January. Overnight stay for us, so not much interaction with the cleaning crew but everyone seemed very friendly. No loud guests around us. We had a good night. Complementary breakfast had good variety and quantity.

Clean, comfy, but needs repairs

The room was attractive and clean. The bed was quite comfortable. However the toilet didn’t flush well and always needed to be flushed more than once. The shower was dripping and there were rust stains. Most inconvenient, every time I tried to use my Dyson hairdryer, it shut off. I tried every different outlet with the same result. And the lotion bottle in the bathroom was empty on arrival

Nice Place

We were checking out Salem and it's history. The hotel was quiet, well maintained and the staff was friendly. Nice place for the family, the indoor pool looked inviting even when the weather outside was 25 degrees 😀

This was a pretty typical Hampton, however construction at the entrance made it very difficult to enter and also led to confusion about paid parking. This Hampton has no free parking for guests and does have a lot of signage stating that, but after a long day of travel and the construction at the entrance led to us not seeing the signs. The gal at the front desk never mentioned “be sure to pay for parking”. I had a ticket and a fine the next morning when I checked out. :-(

I stay at the hampton inn often and its seems to be declining. The rooms need updating, stained carpeting, they now charge for parking, will probably not stay at hampton inn again.

The place needs a bit of work. The front doors were broken, the elevators were rough, and the floors and common areas seemed like they were in mid-construction (but dont think they are). The front desk attendant was so friendly, kind, and wonderful. Room was wonderfully clean and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. We will stay again.

Very good overall….room cleanliness could have been somewhat better. Wish they didn’t charge extra for parking. Staff are very courteous, welcoming, friendly…they are truly great!! Breakfast is very good and above average. Breakfast lady very warm, friendly and welcoming. Plenty of choices to eat nearby. More quiet than you would expect for the area. I would stay again.
