The Islander is a great vacation spot with a pool and easy beach access. The room was sufficient, but it could use a bigger bathroom space which is my only negative. Great location, friendly staff, large rooms

The rooms was clean and recently updated. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It is easy to access the beach. Beyond that, we did not enjoy the room. The bathroom was a tub/shower and toilet. The toilet did not have a lid which created issues. The sink was outside the bathroom. The bathroom was too small to get dressed in which meant there was no privacy for dressing. The room had a single serve cooffee maker but it did not work well and the coffee was not good. There were no luggage racks to place suitcases so all of our luggage was on the floor. There was a dresser but it was not very big and that is where we put the food that we brought for breakfast and snacks. There was also a small round table with 2 chairs...not good when the room capacity is 4. The pool was a constant green during our stay. When i asked about it, i was told it is always green and it was because people dont shower when coming from the ocean. I have never been at an oceanfront resort where the pool was not clear. We would nor stay here again as a family. Maybe it would be better for a couple where privacy and space is not an issue.

Ok getaway

Not a bad stay but was disappointed with lack of room service. Only people staying 3 days or more could get room service only with 24 hr notice due to the short staff. Dirty towels were to be thrown outside the door between the hours of 9 and 12 a.m. and had to go to the front constantly for new towels. Also, take out your own trash. Sand accumulates on the floors from the beach but they were nice enough to leave you a broom and dust pan. Again, not a horrible place but I've stayed at much better. Doesn't seem to be many options in close proximity of the beach so it is worth it for the location. Prices were very reasonable.

Great location and service! I mistakenly booked one night instead of two (thanks to hotels.com being confusing), and they worked to get me another night in the same room, even though someone else was booked for that room that day. Comfort was 3/5 because our room had just a door between an adjacent room. Sound wasn't really isolated at all, so privacy wasn't great.
