This is a beautiful cabin perfectly suited for a couple or a small family. The space is cozy and well-appointed, giving off the feeling of being well-loved and cared for. Everything from how meticulously clean it was when we arrived (the property from the kitchen to the hot-tub was spotless) to the binder with the extensive archive about the cabin's history speaks to how special this place is to the people who have owned it over the years (including the current owner, who is friendly and communicative). My partner and I loved out time here--being in the spacious outdoor porch feels like being in a treehouse, the furniture is very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed in terms of equipment to cook meals during your stay (although naturally there isn't cooking oil or spices etc. so you will need to make a thorough grocery run if you plan to eat in). By the end of the visit it truly felt like home. If you appreciate a property that has been remodeled with the utmost respect to the original building and its history (while being eminently comfortable by modern standards) this is an excellent choice, particularly if you like being close to town. The cabin itself is situated up on a hill overlooking a cute neighborhood, and while there are houses visible (particularly in spring before the leaves come out), it is definitely as private as can be expected being so close to town. Highly recommended.
