At check, in the front desk staff was amazing - from start to finish! There were two of them and they were both second to none. They were top notch. When I got to the room it was literally one of the worst I have ever stayed in. The bathroom was in desperate need of renovations. The towel rack had rust all over it. The sink faucet was not secured properly to the sink. There was a panel over the toilet that had two small holes in it. Someone before me had stuffed the two holes with toilet paper. The carpet in the room was thread bare with either no padding or padding that was totally worn out. The furniture was old and in pretty bad shape. The radiator didn’t work. There was no climate control at all other than two windows that operated fine. The worst part was the bed mattress was very old and extremely uncomfortable. The desk also had something in it that looked like some sort of left over food residue (at least I hope that’s what it was). The service in the restaurant and the food were good. I found out later that apparently some of the rooms have been renovated and some have not. If possible ask for one of the ones that have been renovated.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Whilst clean, the rooms were very tired. Furniture was old, stained and warped. Bathroom fitting were chipped and stained. All and all, the rooms need refurbishment.
Rooms were filthy first room we got bed was full of small black hair hate to think where it was from. Then we got to our second room which was meant to be an upgrade for the inconvience the only difference was that it was a bigger room and a king size bed in there which was like sleeping on wood slats and pillows was like cheese slices. Even the corridor carpets looked like they had bleach leaked all over it. outdated and just generally falling to pieces. have to pay 20 pound to keep your car on there car park even though your a customer staying there. See pictures for more. Would never stay again.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Despite the heating being off the room was hot and stuffy even with the window open all evening. No fan or anything in the room. The tv remote didn’t work properly and was non responsive.
Watch the car park paid for the stay of £10 and then got chased by carpark company had to pay 170 to get rid of them even after submitting all documents of my stay, never will I stay there again.
Well after travelling down from Scotland for night stay they must of had a shortage of cleaners or this room had not been touched for a few weeks!!! There was dust on everything but was to tired to complain! After a nap at least the bed was cleaned we heading down for some food, which is the only thing we could not complain about!! We asked at reception for another towel as we only got one in the room when two people are staying in and told they would bring one up shortly and let’s just say that still never arrived !! I decided to take a bath to help myself chill before bed and to my shock that bathroom head not been cleaned in a very long time and black mould all over the bathroom ceiling !!! Photos to follow yes this hotel is under refurbishment but the cleaner still has a job to do when cleaning rooms !!! A hoover and wet dust would have all it needed well for the room itself!! It has been a damper to our little weekend away but I sure won’t return !!! Staff on reception really need a course in customer service the gentleman who checked us in was ok but this morning the lady asked no questions and quietly checked us out we had an appointment to go to so couldn’t take it up with them glad to be getting my own clean house tonight
I've stayed it 3 times recent years when needing to be in Solihull for work. I always end up staying here as the village is so dear and bad on me, I do know what it's going to be like....but this times it's the worst and the place is just getting more run down. Service on front desk is at best lack luster but the rooms, they're so dated, haven't seen a lick of paint since it opened and they still charge a top rate for the privilege. If a room was 60quid you could get on board with it but at £90 it doesn't roll. And as for the bathroom, you'll get a better wash from under a hose pipe and finally when you get water the bath fills up (I wanted a shower but the tap gave me both!) it fills up a tinge of yellow, you could only hope its rusty pipes.
Aye, this place is fine enough if it was priced to reflect what you get but it isn't and to top it off, parkings a tenner.
