I think the host was great. Responsive. Kind. Friendly. We only lasted one of our two nights. When we arrived, the dead end, neighborhood street was blocked with car traffic and people on the sidewalks. The car traffic was coming and going all night. The people lining the streets would walk up to the cars as they arrived, have a conversation and eventually the cars would leave, to be replaced by new cars. This scene continued, along with noise, until about 2 am. It appeared that our next door neighbor was likely dealing drugs.Approximately every third house was either condemned, vacant, or under severe distress. By severe distress, I mean large (several feet) holes in the roof. Structures falling over. Houses boarded up, etc.My wife and I did not feel comfortable remaining the second night with our three kids. We left early and got a hotel. We communicated our concerns with the host. She did not respond after being very responsive up to that point. The house itself was nice, clean, and had everything that was advertised. It is simply not a safe, family-friendly environment in this current stage of "redevelopment." That was only clear when we arrived. In hindsight, I should have never stayed a night, should have complained within the 12 hour limit, and requested a full refund.
