The Big Sur is so beautiful. Dining options in this area are very limited though. The Lodge breakfast is only OK. Installations are simple. Staff was great.
It’s really difficult to get to from the north. Google maps is inaccurate and we had to drive over a very winding road to get there. I did appreciate them keeping me updated though. There is no cell service, no tv. Not enough blankets and it was so cold. No onsite staff do if you don’t catch them when they are there, it’s a long night. My reservation was supposed to be for 3 adults and two beds, but was messed up and thankfully I was able up reach them by email. Because you can’t call them. I will say the views are fantastic and the sunset was gorgeous but there is no hiking from the lodge. You have to drive miles to gain access to the beaches. If I had to go it over I would have chosen to stay further south.
Beautiful location and the space is quaint. The cabins are so cozy, and there are several beautiful spots to see the sunrise, sunset and all the stars. Dreamy space, and close to several trails.
A hidden gem that is a pragmatic abode for couples or individual travelers that want to spend most of their time exploring the vast beauty of the central coast but have a clean and cozy place to rest up. One would be hard pressed to find a better view!
Outstanding location, beautiful drive from Monterey if you go through Jolon, you drive through the national forests. Stop in Gorda for a meal and pick up wine/snacks and then settle into the environment. Cozy Cabin like rooms, with the waves racing to the shore below the cliffs.
Ambiance ;)
