We had a really lovely stay here. The house is quirky and full of character. There was loads to keep the kids busy, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our time. The owners were very friendly and welcoming too. Highly recommended.

Nice Normandy Getaway!

The gîte was superb. Beautifully clean, with everything you could need. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into setting it up. Garden is beautiful, with games and places to relax. We loved the red squirrel and the friendly cat! The hosts were delightful and There is lots to do in the area

Great family stay.

We stayed for a week with our son and his wife and two grandchildren. Plenty of room in the property and well equipped. The garden was ideal for an 3 and 5 year old.

Perfect

We had a wonderful and relaxing time. The owners have provided everything you need in this rental and we loved the fact that it was so clean. We were made most welcome by Francois and Martine who were both very helpful and friendly. The gite is in a beautiful setting.

Lovely house, amazing hosts

Lovely property, fabulous gardens for the kids and plenty of games for them to play. Kitchen is well stocked so no need to take anything extra. Property is clean and extremely homely, there was even a fire burning when we arrived. Martine and François are amazing hosts, we will definitely be returning!

Beautiful House in Idyllic Location

Cannot reccomend this beautiful house enough! Stunning property, spotlessly clean and well catered for. We have a 7 year old and 13 year old and they loved all the outdoor games and activities, and especially enjoyed meeting the children in the adjoining property! Owners were friendly and welcoming and the property provided many suggestions for local attractions and places of interest. A beautiful holiday home which I will be recommending to everyone when we return home!

What a delightful gîte this is We were welcomed so warmly by François, Martine’s husband,and shown round the house It has to be the best equipped gîte have ever stayed in....and there’s been a few. It was clean and well presented The children really enjoyed the garden, again really well equipped for play! A lovely area with little shops nearby, and 3 wonderful Boulangeries!!!! We’d be mad not to go back Thank you for a lovely stay

Lovely Gite !

The Gite is in a beautiful location in Normandy with countryside all around. The owners were very helpful and friendly and the gite is very well equipped. It was cold in the evenings (it was April !) so the log burner was fantastic. The kids loved the outdoor space with the table tennis, archery and just loads of space to run around in.

GREAT HOUSE & GARDEN

We had a wonderful 12 days here with our son, daughter-in-law & 5 grandchildren. The children are between 9 years & 4 months & they really enjoyed the big garden & the balls, bats, swings, big trees, little train to play on etc. We loved having lunch out at the big picnic table. The house is very well stocked with crockery, cutlery & all the necessary culinary things & again there are lots of games, puzzles, coloring in books for the children & lots of info books for adults, although we couldn't use them because we don't understand French. There are 3 bedrooms so 3 of the grandchildren had to sleep upstairs in the same room as their parents & the other 2 were in the interleading room & we were in the room downstairs. We hadn't realised that 5 would be in one room but it was actually fine because my son & daughter-in-law are quite easy going. We would definitely recommend this house to others. Francois is a really friendly & considerate host. They live next door so it's easy to be in touch with them if you need to.

A beautiful property

We have just returned after spending Christmas at this stunning gite and felt compelled to write this review as the pictures do not do this place justice. We are a family of 5 and also took my children's grandparents, we stayed in Le Tilleul and had ample room for us all. The gite is stunning, extremely well equipped with beautiful touches throughout. The log burner heated the whole place for us and made it feel very cosy. In the mornings we enjoyed lying in bed with the windows open listening to the wildlife outside. The owners, Martine and Francois, are extremely welcoming and make excellent hosts. For all the reasons given, my parents are looking to rebook to go in November and we are looking to rebook for next December.

Beautiful property and garden with lots of attention to detail. A great base for exploring Normandy.

Le Tilleul exceeded our expectations. We were given a warm and friendly welcome along with a much appreciated locally made drink chilling in the fridge. The house itself was very clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The decor was fantastic, carrying the natural look and vert-pomme theme throughout. Although the properties are joined, the owners have done a fantastic job of maintaining each property's privacy. There was plenty to do and explore in the garden for our children 10yrs, 15yrs and 19yrs and a variety of places to relax surrounded by a beautiful garden and wildlife. Each evening we were able to sit out and watch the bats fly around at dusk. It was a wonderful base for exploring Normandy and only 5 minutes into Auffay for the train to Rouen and on to Paris. A house I would be happy to stay in again.

Beautiful place to stay, but not completely adapted for 8 people

We were two families of four (four adults, four children) staying at the Le Tilleul property...a beautifully restored authentic barn type property, with lovely interior design touches, the property was very clean and beautiful. However, the description states that the property has three bedrooms, which is strictly true, but upstairs you have to walk through a bedroom with one double bed and two singles (a complete family of four room), to get to a tiny bedroom with two more single beds. In the description, this room is said to be a further attic room which had led us to believe it would be above the mezzanine floor on another level, which led to some surprise on arrival. Not a massive problem, but something to be aware of if you have younger children who still need to be close to parents, as the other double room is downstairs on the ground floor. We had to have one set of adults, their own children and the two children from the second family up there in those rooms, the other set of parents sleeping downstairs, away from their children. We also stayed during a very cold period (new year) and needed to heat the property - great log burner and the wood is free, but property is quite lightly insulated, so be prepared to pay some electricity for heating if staying in winter months. Overall a nice place to stay, the owners have thought of everything in terms of facilities and amenities, and the little extras that the owner has thought of in the garden area are a nice addition (topiary, labelled plants, collected items from brocantes, etc).

Gîte accueillant et verdoyant

Le gîte est vraiment magnifique. Très bien restauré et entretenu avec tout les équipements possibles. Le jardin est verdoyant et magnifique également. Très accueillant pour les enfants avec de multiples jeux à l’intérieur et extérieur. Mr et Mme Delacroix sont sympathiques et aidant. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir une prochaine fois.
