At the time the elevators did not work. We had to use the service elevators. Despite that little problem the staff and the rooms were amazing. Every one from the breakfast staff helping you to the house keeping.every staff member we interacted with on the service elevator was so nice and helpful

This is a beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. Like most hotels, the property and lobby are much better than the rooms. So let me get right to the room. The beds were soft but comfortable. The shower/bathtub was moderately small. I had a balcony overlooking the pool (#357) and the view was nice, except there was a big palm tree in the way. But I could still see the pool and cabanas. I did like the fact that I could smoke on the balcony. There were 2 chairs and a little table with an ashtray. The description of the temperature control is inaccurate. There isn’t a thermostat on the wall for central air. It's a standard wall mount a/c unit by the balcony door. My only complaint really is that the closet doors don't close all of the way and the room service took too long and was very expensive. There's only one lady that worked in the kitchen. She did the cooking, prep, and delivery of the food. The hotel is definitely understaffed. As to the safety of the hotel. There is a security guard there. But the fact that they need one speaks loudly about the surroundings. I returned from dinner one night very late and got lost trying to find the elevator. While I was asking the person at the front desk for help, this guy approached me, who appeared to be gay, and said that he would escort me to my room as he winked at me. I chose to have the security guard do that, but this guy followed me and the security guard up to the third floor where my room was.

I’m sorry I wanted to give this hotel 5 stars since a co-worker recommended this hotel. The best part of my stay was when I first arrived. The front desk was amazing and got me checked in before 4pm. It went downhill from there. The water in the bathtub was brown and there was no water pressure. The buffet was very adequate. The scrambled eggs were dry and horrible. The lady that waited on us was rude when I also asked if I could also have OJ with my coffee and when I asked for cream she said they had very little and then we saw she brought a plate full of creamers to another guest. I understand the hotel is older but this should not have happened. I travel to Beaumont for business and unfortunately I will not be staying there again.

Dilapidated, Dirty, and Disappointing

Honestly flabbergasted by the other reviews on this site that I trusted to select this location. We were excited to try a local “legend” after hearing the history of the hotel, and were expecting an 8/10 plus experience based on reviews… but instead found ourselves in a dark and questionable parking lot, and then a room we couldn’t even stand to stay in. The initial entrance and lobby were clean enough. And no complaints about the front desk attendant- we didn’t even bother her with a complaint as we dropped the keys in the checkout box only 25 minutes after checking in, because it wasn’t her fault. However. The elevators are ancient, slow, and sketchy at best. The hallway was so dirty and looked like something out of The Shining. The room smelled like feet and sweat, and was (especially the bathroom) falling apart. Needless to say, we didn’t bother to unpack. Stayed long enough to use the flickering lamp bulb to light the room and book ourselves in at a different hotel down the road, and then promptly and quietly slipped out, leaving The Eleganté as far behind us as we could to save the night from being a total flop.
