The Pink House - 5 Bedroom Historic luxury home just 0.3 miles from downtown Banner Elk
Just a 0.3 mile stroll from downtown Banner Elk, The Pink House stands as a timeless beauty. Originally built as the treasured Banner Elk Inn, this elegantly restored historic home now offers modern luxury wrapped in warmth and mountain charm. With five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and three half baths spread across three thoughtfully designed stories, this spacious retreat is perfect for family gatherings, intimate celebrations, or restful escapes to the High Country.
Main Level: History, Comfort, and the Heart of the Home
Enter through the cheerful front porch or the practical mudroom, where laundry facilities and a utility sink welcome you after a day on the trails or the slopes. Inside, the soul of the home unfolds in layers of light and texture. The gourmet kitchen is a work of art, featuring custom cabinetry, lustrous Italian soapstone countertops, premium Café appliances, and an island perfect for morning coffee or evening conversation.
Just beyond, the dining area blends vintage elegance with modern comfort—an ideal space for meals that stretch into laughter-filled evenings. The original parlor, with its rich beadboard walls and delicate period lighting, offers a quiet space to read, sip, and reflect. For larger gatherings, the expansive living room invites you in with its plush seating, gas log fireplace, and large smart TV—a cozy setting for board games, movie nights, or heartfelt conversation.
Tucked privately on the main floor, the primary suite is a true mountain sanctuary. Beneath vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings, a luxurious king-sized bed anchors the room, complemented by soft reading chairs, a rustic wood-burning stove, and a smart TV for late-night unwinding. The ensuite bathroom is a masterpiece of design—boasting a custom tiled walk-in shower, double vanity, elegant lighting, heated floors, and a striking black tiled accent wall that creates a bold yet tranquil ambiance. This suite offers the rare combination of luxury and warmth—a peaceful retreat you may never want to leave.
Second Level: Quiet Comfort and Private Spaces
Upstairs, the home continues to unfold its historic charm. A second suite offers a plush queen bed and a private bathroom complete with a granite-topped vanity and shower/tub combo. Besides it, a third suite features a full bed and yet another private bathroom with classic styling and warm granite finishes.
A serene queen bedroom and a bright bedroom with two full beds share a well-appointed hallway bathroom. This shared bath is both stylish and spacious, offering a double vanity and a custom tiled shower that make mornings with a full house feel effortless. An additional half bath is conveniently located nearby.
Top Level: A Hideaway for Fun and Relaxation
The third floor is its own little world—a whimsical and relaxed space for relaxation and play. One cozy room is set up as a sleeping nook with two twin beds, perfect for kids or those who enjoy tucked-away charm. In the adjacent room, soft beanbag chairs gather around a mounted TV and PlayStation 5, creating a playful lounge where kids (and kids-at-heart) can unwind after a day of exploring.
Outdoor Spaces: Beauty, History, and Mountain Air
Step outside and discover why The Pink House is just as magical beyond its walls. Original stone steps lead down to Main Street. The covered side porch, complete with a classic swing and comfortable seating, is perfect for sipping your morning coffee as the sun rises over the mountains.
The landscaped grounds are full of charm, with historic water fountains that add an air of nostalgia and an outdoor fireplace that invites guests to gather as the stars begin to twinkle overhead. In the rear, a newly constructed stone patio, bordered by custom fencing, offers a quiet and private space to relax with friends, enjoy a drink, or simply breathe in the fresh mountain air.
Explore Majestic Banner Elk
With downtown just a walk away, guests can easily enjoy local boutiques, art galleries, and great dining without ever starting the car. A short drive brings you to year-round adventures, from skiing at Beech or Sugar Mountain to hiking the rugged trails of Grandfather Mountain. Don't miss the Mile-High Swinging Bridge, scenic drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway, or afternoons spent at local wineries. Banner Elk hosts seasonal festivals, live music, and farmers' markets that make every visit unique.
Whether you're curled up by the fire, enjoying a long breakfast in the kitchen, or enjoying the mountain air from the porch swing, The Pink House offers a stay that is as unforgettable as it is welcoming. Come experience a piece of history and make memories that feel like home.
