Great hotel with a beautiful view over the park. Within walking distance of the town and all attractions. A short walk to the railway station to visit Fota or Cork city. The trains can be busy when the Cruise ships are docked, but they are pretty impressive to see which adds to the experience of visiting Cobh.
The hotel bedroom was spacious and spotlessly clean. Complimentary toiletries, tea/coffee muffins and biscuits.
There is a bar & bistro which also becomes the breakfast room. Unfortunately there is no lounge to relax in during the day to enjoy a coffee & perhaps read a book. Just a few tables and chairs beside the reception which is quite busy.
There is a reasonable choice for breakfast, all cooked to order, it was prompt and delicious.
Which is great as I absolutely hate self service ban marie type breakfasts but on the 3rd morning I would have preferred a lighter breakfast ie cereal, fresh fruit etc We ate in the Bistro one of the evenings & the food was lovely & reasonably priced.
This hotel has the must welcoming, friendly and helpful staff I have encountered in a long time travelling. They are a credit to the owners. I would highly recommend this Hotel if staying in Cobh. You will be well looked after.
Beautiful hotel-very historic. Location was perfect-within walking distance of just about everything. The view of the harbor was stunning. Room was clean & comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Great experience!
The beds were like bricks, the rooms are located in small hallway areas with steps and doors to go thru with luggage. The views were dumpsters and so small.
Excellent customer service.
They had a easter egg in the room when checked in , how lovely.
They also had cadburys creme eggs in reception checking in .
Lovely little detail.
All staff are lovely
For this being an old building, it felt so comfortable! The staff were great as well. I was able to easily walk to everything I wanted to see in this town. It was lovely!
I liked the hotel but the restaurant had pretty bad service. The hotel is nice and right in the beautiful town. I would recommend the hotel to stay at but would skip their restaurant. The beds were comfortable and everyone was nice at the hotel.
My wife and I stayed in the hotel during the St Patrick's day celebrations and the town was filled with local families and numerous visitors from around the world. The hotel was very busy and we used the restaurant and bar and it was good to see so many people and families having a good time. The food was lovely and they served a great pint of Guinness. I was very impressed with all the staff we came into contact with. Very friendly, very professional and we'll certainly be back again.
First room was poor with a bathtub, no electrical outlets beside bed, unadjustable heat radiator with broken control knobs and no night table on one side. Changed to another room with a nice walk-in shower, electrical outlets, digital controlled radiator, and night tables. Moral is to specify a nice room.
Great location in Cobh. Dining options when virtually everywhere was closed (out of season early March) was most welcome. Staff helpful, friendly and interested in what our plans were.
Room was large, bed comfortable and spotlessly clean. Could do with a larger TV would be my only complaint.
