An older style hotel, very classy. Interesting and unconventional wallpaper design in hallways. Had rented one of the "Maverick" rooms and was put on the 7th floor. Elevators seem of older age and were decently fast but the card reader (to scan room key and go above 3rd floor) wasn't working well and one had to hold the card over it for several seconds which confused some guests. Room was very clean and nicely furnished. The bed was weirdly uncomfortable and I found that a down-filled mattress topper was used. The feathers were sticking out in multiple spots and made the experience uncomfortable. The shower drain was also clogged. Both items were fixed after reporting them to the front desk staff. The HVAC system in the room was a little loud but one could turn it off for the night. I appreciated the wired internet connection which was way faster than the free Wi-Fi which also was not behind an annoying login portal so I could easily connect my own Chromecast to it. It was however so slow at some points that I had to use my phone's data connection and hotspot. Parking is hit or miss. Sometimes the streets surrounding the hotel are already full of cars and you need to park farther away. Hotel staff told me parking was not really enforced and that was my experience during my 1-week stay.

My card was compromised a few months after I booked my room. There is no way to put the new card on the reservation. So Expedia nor the padre never let me know they canceled my room the morning of checkin. I was still able to get a room but it might be something to look into. Especially for people traveling a distance like I was .

Delightful

Delightful stay with attentive staff. The lively restaurant and bar give a great atmosphere. It is modern and elegant with a nod to the classic original building and design. Very convenient for the Arena access.
