2 stars because the young girl at the front desk was amazingly kind and professional, sadly I feel she has few other options than to work/be there. However, I booked this hotel based off of the photos, ratings, and reviews, and I feel severely misled. I am not familiar with the area, which is also not great. There were men hanging out on the stairs and in the parking lot, it was after midnight. I checked in, then quickly checked out after I went to the room and saw that it looked like the door lock was broken out, the bedspread was stained, and the room felt less than clean. The whole property felt very unsafe to me and I live in a high crime city, but I felt like I would have had to sleep with one eye open. Thankfully, I was able to find another available hotel for that night and the remainder of my time in Bakersfield. I would love to give a higher rating just for the wonderful girl at the front desk, unfortunately the property doesn’t even deserve one star. I also feel that if I had been able to stay here, there should have been some sort of price reduction since breakfast was not available. If I had booked a hotel based on it offering breakfast, then it was not available and I had to go pay for it elsewhere, I would think that should be deducted from the cost of the room rate.
