Bit of confusion regarding room and breakfast. I think the error was from both the hotel and Expedia. However after discussion with management all was resolved very amicably because of friendly nature of staff who went out it of their way to resolve the issues .

Great

Sadly it rained during our stay so didn’t see it at it’s best. Service was unobtrusive but good. Style of hotel very cool. Great value at its price point.

The villa was so nice - the photos don’t do it justice. But it was the staff that makes this place extra special. Highly recommend Villa Sassolini for at least 2 to 3 night stay and to try the cooking class with Riccardo.

The property is nicely renovated with modern rooms. We had a Classic room which was very small for two people with luggage. We were lucky only one of us had a suitcase, as we would not have been able to fit two suitcases. The quality of bed and pillows were great, but also the size of the bed was small. The bathroom lacked comfort, as it did not have an adjustable shower (the water came down from the ceiling), nor did it allow for shower gel/shampoo to be put in the shower. It had to be put on the ground, but with the pipes not properly working, there was too much water, so the products floated. All not hygienic. There was a note on the environment, but the room/bathroom did not allow to put the used towels somewhere to dry. All in all, not very useful. The staff was excellent. They were very friendly and helpful and the quality of the food was great.

A great honeymoon!

We stayed at the Villa Sassolini for our honeymoon, and it was wonderful. The entire hotel was gorgeous, if small. The food was fantastic. As was the shower! The hotel is not easy to get to, and definitely requires renting a car, but it's absolutely worth it.

Stellar Villa in the Hills

Your search for a hotel in Tuscany should end right here. This place is truly phenomenal, from the staff, the location, the facility, etc. We had one of the suites overlooking the pool - every morning we woke up with that magical, sunny view across the hills. Sure, there is not a ton to do around the little village, but if you are looking to relax, this is perfect.

Beautiful location.

Beautiful villa located in the small village of Moncioni, outside of the town of Montevarchi. In the heart of stunning Tuscan countryside, the villa offers a secluded stay, amongst olive groves and vineyards. You will need a car! The village is approximately a 10-15 minute drive from the town of Montevarchi, where although there is a train station and taxi services, having a car will allow you the freedom of exploring this picturesque region. The villa itself is staffed by a wonderful team of friendly and helpful personnel, who will make your stay most enjoyable. The restaurant offers a diverse menu of rustic Italian dishes as well as contemporary faire. You can even take a cooking class with the chef, which is definitely time well spent, before enjoying your efforts for lunch! All in all, a fantastic and relaxing stay.

Good but could be better

We had booked a 'Classic' room, not realizing until we arrived that this was in a separate building, not in villa Sassolini. The room decor is not the same as the main house and the mattress was particularly unconformable. This was later resolved and the rooms in the Villa itself are much higher quality. The surrounding, grounds and pool area are all great. The staff were all pleasant but not as professional or well trained as expected for a 'hotel' of this advertised quality. Drinks should be offered rather than always having to ask. Breakfast was ok but the same each day and nothing cooked.

Exceptionally good, well managed, well maintained

All positive.Clean, comfortable, stylish, villa in a small hilltop village.Excellent knowledgable staff who are very attentive to your needs. Great restaurant serving great food and great wine. Head waiter George has been here for 8 years and really knows his stuff. !deal romantic getaway but you will definitely need a car if you wish to venture out. The area is outstandingly beautiful with the Chianti towns all within a i hour drive and well worth a visit. (Grieves in Chianti in particular!)

Away from it all

Super quiet hotel in a small village. You almost certainly will want a car. Only ten rooms and when we went only about three occupied, which made it extra quiet. But I think it would have been very relaxing even when full. Andrea, the manager, was very helpful and shuffled the dinner menu to accommodate our likes and dislikes (with notice, of course).
