Nice enough

The hotel is in a nice location. Could walk to the fish market and food truck court. Surf side but had to cross a large sand dune to get to the beach, which was difficult, especially if you were carrying anything to and from the beach. The nicest people work there. An older hotel but had been updated.

The staff were very pleasant and the location was perfect. The thing that bothered me was the door seemed to need weatherstripping as I could see daylight around its frame. I know that is a silly thought.

This was just a great place to stay! Very convenient (and walkable) to lots of places to eat. Rooms were clean and simple and perfect. The whole property was clean and well kept. The staff we met, Billy and Braedon, were very friendly and helpful and provided us with loads of information—guiding us to come back!! The other staff in the office were super friendly and helpful too. We are so glad life afforded us to come to Avon and stay at the Avon Motel!!

Great location and price

Really loved our stay here! The price for 4 nights could not be beat and the location with beach access was perfect. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Our one complaint was that the bed was not the best and was a little too soft, but honestly that wouldn't prevent us from staying here again. Highly recommend

The staff was not very friendly/personable. Checking in and checking out never once said hello, how are you, or anything when entering the office. Just stared at you and Waited for you to talk and not really respond back. Didn’t ask for an ID or booking confirmation or anything when checking in just a name - not very secure check in process. Room had all types of bugs in it of all sizes. The bed felt and sounded like it was 25+ years old. There was a chair in the room that looks like it has survived multiple floods and should just be removed it’s so gross looking, feeling. Property is pretty noisey and doesn’t block a lot of noise from outside. They also over charged me than what my booking receipt shows. Room is worth maximum $45 a night.

People was fighting on the property and I told the one on golf cart and she said don’t suprise me when there was a kid running to me crying saying please help me. Rooms were not in great shape and the steps you climb to get to room looked very old and unstable. Will not stay here again.

I really like this place. It’s easy to book, the location is great, and the price is reasonable. It has a fisherman-style vibe, but to me, it feels unique in its own way.

So cute.

Avon Motel is like stepping back in time. I thought it was awesome. Staff was friendly, and helpful. They still use an actual key, with the keychain that has your room number on it. So cute! It’s not your fanciest 5 star hotel. It’s quiet, charming, and exactly what i needed for a nights stay.

Bed bugs we were bitten all over our body blood was on the sheets from my boyfriends back being bitten. Said they would not charge us for the room we left early and did they did anyway now they are disputing the refund initiated by our bank. Horrible large roaches the biggest roaches either of us ever seen and the room smell like mildew we went and purchased lysol and a can off the automatic air freshener cans because the order was that bad. Also does not look as described not even the building color nor the room we stayed in.
