Where to start… I stayed here two-ish years ago and it felt like they were remodeling. Maybe I was wrong. Idk. This time around I had my 10yo daughter. The man gave us a downstairs room which had a door to the “balcony” (porch) and a door to the room next door as well. None of doors had inside locks that were only accessible inside the room. Which for me is a safety concern. Oh, and there was no view from the room or the porch due to the section of building next to us. The whole reason to stay here is the scenic views! The bathroom looked as though it had been partially painted. Shower seemed newly remodeled, but the paint wasn’t done around the finished shower. The tiles on the floor didn’t look like they had grout. The water took forever to get hot, I started to wonder if they just didn’t have hot water… Breakfast… let’s just say it felt like we were the only guests there. There was two bagels, a bowl of pancake mix in the fridge. Cereal, milk, OJ, and some honey buns. Coffee was hot, so there’s that. The whole place is just really run down and gives “trafficking” vibes. For the area of Austin, I expected better. We won’t be staying here again.

Was put in a room in the back, where we could not park completely by, was told multiple time about no smoking, in 5 secs. When leaving I didn’t even make it to the lobby and the person asked if we were checking out and asked for my card. The picture. look nice on the website and when we got into the room we were shocked of how much of a downgrade it was.

There were plenty of outlets in the room, which was good. The bed was just the right size, and very clean. The other furniture was a bit shabby, however. The view was very nice; didn't use the pool,, but I would have been glad to if we'd had time. The ice machine was useless. You need to replace it.

The fire alarm started beeping with a low battery at 3AM. I got notification while I was there of an “air tag nearby” which was disturbing. The photos did not appropriately depict this establishment. I booked for two nights and left early in the morning after the first night. Would never go back and would never recommend to anyone else.

The balcony hadn't been looked at. We had a hornets hive on a chair eith quite a bit of hornets. Breakfast was dismal. Little to no breads, old bananas, waffle maker broken handle, first day, tiny waffle batter left, cockroach in our bathroom when we arrived.

Stayed in Suite 100. Mostly clean; found a dead roach in the bathroom and a massive active wasp nest on our patio, but had no issues otherwise. Friendly and attentive staff, beautiful scenery, great rooms, and breakfast available. 4/5 stars, would definitely stay here again.

Safe, clean, good location for the weekend event we need to be, proprietor tried his best to accommodate our party of 3 rooms on a weekend when practically all hotels are fully booked. Have been using this property for the last several years, like the quietness and easy parking and safe location. The Mountain Star Lodge is a nature lovers' oasis nestled in the midst of a bustling Austin suburb. The lodge is set back from the road, on a hilltop overlooking a lush green valley full of birds and othe lical wildlife. The accomodations are rustic, but clean and spacious. The small kitchenette was an added bonus. The setting is quiet and peaceful, while being just a couple minutes from upscale shopping, entertainment, and offices. The proprietor "Sonny" was friendly and accomodating. If our travels bring us to the Bee Cave/Dripping Springs area again, we would definitely stay here again.
