UT graduation weekend

We were in Austin to see my son graduate from UT, and it was our second time at this hotel. We love it. It is sooo super nice. The food trucks, restaurants and bars behind thr hotel are so much fun and walking distance. We had the absolute best time. Cant wait to plan another trip.

Property is nice and clean and close to bars if you want to enjoy that. Nice pool area and roof top bar and close to river. We were on the 11th floor and it was still very loud in the room from the I35 traffic. I think some of the higher floor might have a view of the river which would have been nice. Two other complaints.1. Upon arrival after we handed the key to valet and proceeded to the front door, the bartender (we didn’t know who he was at the time) was in front of us and pretty much slammed the door to our face and proceeded to elevator and got in there before us and got out before us. I guess I would have expected him (specially since he is the hotel staff) to hold the door open for two older ladies (my sister and I). 2. The valet left a big blue pen mark on the cream leather of inside driver side of my car.

Very Friendly staff, great valet service, comfortable beds. My only two concerns would be the door (to the bathroom) which is very heavy to open and close (and I'm a rather strong person who works out) and the noise level from Rainy Street. But everything else was great. Lobby is located on the 5th floor. Beautiful pool area, great rooftop bar/restaurant too.

Great hotel for basing yourself in Austin and easy to get around. Very good facilities. The only negative would be the noise from I35 which is a busy road. The other side of the hotel faces onto the Rainey street which plays loud music, so I preferred the road noise to the clubs. Anything to improve the sound proofing then 5 out 5.
