The one lock was broken, I didnt want it charged to us so I notified owner upon arrival. He was aware. But the home wasnt secure for them or us. Toilet seats, one side broken on both toilets on first floor. We are older and almost fell twice. The microwave door handle had hard dried dirt on it from previous renter, I cleaned it because I didn’t want that to be blamed on me.Beautiful home and property. We were very comfortable, the owners thought of everything. Quite a lot of rules, more than other VRBO properties we've stayed at. Like most places you run dishwasher upon leaving, here you had to empty dishwasher too. You were supposed to wash your towels before leaving. Never has an owner asked that of us before. Just feel they expected a lot of renter cleaning.I never felt fully at rest with the outside door lock broken and was afraid to fully use the house.

The lodge was even better in person. Very picturesque and very clean, and quiet. The lodge had everything you could need and the host was very responsive to any questions and was very pleasant and thoughtful. Perfect spot for our small Wedding under the stars! Beautiful, quiet property. The grounds were well kept, in the same manner that you’d see at a resort. The lodge was very large, with a huge finished basement. Comfortable living room furniture, and a large kitchen with everything you need to cook during your stay. The wrap around porch had plenty of seating and table space, both in the front and back. We also used a large grille on the back porch to make breakfast and dinner. We were there during the summer, so the fireplace wasn’t needed. But I can imagine how cozy the lodge must be when it’s snowing. About a 20 minute drive to Cherry Springs park, although the sky & stars were excellent on-premises as well. We live in eastern Pennsylvania, and forgot that there are elk in the western part of the state. One walked right up past the lodge while we were sitting on the porch. While it is a beautiful lodge, please note that it is a fully provisioned home with electricity\fridge\freezer\heat\water\plumbing\full kitchen\WiFi\etc.

Peaceful and Exceeded Expectations

Rental process was very easy and the property Manager responded to emails quickly to address any issues or concerns. The property was well equipped for a comfortable stay. During our stay, we saw bears, Bull Elk, fox, Skunk, several Deer, an Eagle, numerous other smaller animals, and enjoyed the sea of stars in the night sky. We visited the Austin Dam, an Amish Auction and the Stevenson Dam. Thank again!

Fantastic Central PA spot

We celebrated my parents' 80th birthdays with a family reunion - 8 adults and 2 children 1 dog. The house was ENORMOUS and easily accommodated our party with nice private areas for everyone. The kitchen is very well equipped with the best pans I've seen in a VRBO. The whole house has filtered water, so even the ice was delicious. Two ice cube makers really came in handy! AC in the upstairs bedrooms was greatly appreciated. The main floor was very warm (temps in mid-upper 80s) but nice overnight.Sam was very responsive, especially when the power went out due to a storm. Getting the keys was very easy, and the whole house was spotless. The beds are all very firm, and the pillows were great. The "futon" on the lower level is an extra pillowtop mattress, which the kids loved sleeping on.We brought a hose that easily attached to the outdoor pump (very necessary since the dog couldn't stay out of the pond!). The gas grill is a griddle surface, not a typical grill, so we used the charcoal grill and fire pit grill for cooking. We enjoyed fishing and catching newts in the pond, and spent so much time on the huge covered porch. The moon was too bright to see the Milky Way, but we did see the ISS fly overhead twice. We had a really lovely, relaxing time.

Awesome Log Home Near PA Grand Canyon!

The cabin was simply beautiful. Despite inclement weather we still enjoyed the outdoor deck. The kitchen was well equippped and the Blackstone Grill came in very handy for breakfast and dinner! This was a "guy camp trip" but we'd love to come back and bring our spouses in the future.

Sledding and stars

Beautiful place to hang out with friends and family - play games in the living room, heated garage, basement, or outside on the hill. I gave the cleanliness less than 5 only because of the ladybug situation - dead and live bugs. We plan to return.

2024 Christmas Trip

We had a wonderful time at the house. This might be our favorite Christmas trip so far. The only issue we had was the key wasn’t in the lock box, but that was resolved very quickly. We had plenty of areas to get some hikes thru the days.

Family time to reconnect

Had a fantastic week at the lodge with our adult children and preschool grandchildren. The kids LOVED running everywhere ! Even had fantastic whole family hide and seek. Explored some local sites, but also just enjoyed the property. The ac units upstairs were so welcome. It got a bit uncomfortable heatwise inside, but overall it cooled down enough for sleeping. We ate every meal on the porch. Once we started seeing bear, we saw them 5 different times! Everything was thoughtfully stocked and we'd love to return one day. The hardest thing to figure out was regulating the hot and cold on the upstairs and downstairs showers. Stargazing is a must. the porch. were

Had a great time, thought it would be fun to play quates in the yard but I guess the owner thinks $250. Damage charge would make the grass grow again,,,,wouldn't recommend this cabin
